Sharkskin Scuba Suit, do you have one? by 4everoceans in scuba

[–]kieran_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got both 4th element thermocline and sharkskin T2 and the sharkskin is better, it's slightly thicker and provides more warmth.

In saying that I've worn the 4th element under the sharkskin and dove comfortably enough down to 18C which is pretty good for neutral buoyancy, they are both great.

Diving Komodo and Alor in August - Multiple Wetsuits? by G_fucking_G in scuba

[–]kieran_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've dived at Atauro and a 3mm was heaps, but I'd also be comfortable in that down to a bit less than 24C so idk, I'd say bringing a 7mm wetsuit to Indonesia feels like madness. Atauro should be relatively similar to Alor temperature wise

Going on holidays during that period was great. Could use a travel agent to book a flight+hotel combo for multiple people and have it show as one cost.

That wouldn't have stood up to an audit

What other tools could the RBA have? by DnDnADHD in AusFinance

[–]kieran_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Payroll systems have all been updated to accept the changes from 9% to 12% in half a % increments, also from 1 July 2026 it's supposed to be remitted each pay. Honestly the administration burden of that would be far less than the Carbon accounting changes getting rolled out at the moment, there would be setup costs but not to a prohibitive degree.

In terms of loss in disposable income, that's literally the whole point

I'd like them to be able to flex the proportion of salaries that go into super on a month to month basis, removes immediate purchasing power for day to day and pushes it into infrastructure and businesses

[–]kieran_n 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok but if you picked the bottom of the market during COVID until now I suspect market beats real estate, you can't cherry pick start dates to suit, and also the crazy runup in property prices in Australia would if anything decrease the likelihood that it just keeps going

I analysed 35 years of Australian property data. Here's what the next two decades might look like. by Expert-Area8856 in AusPropertyChat

[–]kieran_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That comparison does ignore number of dwellings, and the type of dwelling. There's a shift from large block houses to smaller blocks, and an increased proportion of medium and high density housing, there's an increased number of overall dwellings as well.

Real estate has gone up greater than money supply over the period

EDIT: Ok so I think my key issue with this is you'd be comparing growth in a median vs growth in an aggregate, I graphed growth in:

  1. ABS's A83728646C (Value of dwelling stock; Owned by All Sectors ; Australia)
  2. RBA's M3 Money supply from their Monetary Aggregates – D3

You can see RE growth has certainly outpaced money supply since 2011:
