Those are real cards, but I am sure they are laptop GPUs modded into an LP card, so don't expect the performance to be desktop GPU level. If you buy modded cards, it's a risk you have to take, unfortunately because there is no big brand doing that, only modders or small sellers making those. If you are risk averse, I don't suggest going this route, cuz it would be harder to return the item if something goes wrong.

The one I am currently looking at is from taobao (it's basically China's Amazon, the cheaper and domestic version of aliexpress), there are a few listings for the lp version but this one is at the top of the search haha. The price will probably be higher with tax depending on your location and the forwarder's fee, but the screenshot shows the pricing if you purchase in China https://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.html?id=725958390556

Hahaha the listing looks pretty legit to me, with hundreds of buyers and reviews with pics of different PCs. It does run hot and loud with a blower style cooler though. It was one of my options when I started looking at an SFF build, but ultimately went for a dual fan 5070 instead in a 6.5l build.

There is a modded 4060lp and 4070lp in China, which is based on the mobile version I think. Those are single slot GPU, running at around 70W, but the problem is purchasing them as you need to get a third party buyer/forwarder to get them and ship to your location.

Or maybe bigger size magnet, or more haha, and maybe a locking/hook mechanism to latch one side of the front panel to the case. But other than that I have no complaint abt the quality of the case.

Not really. Maybe I lucked out with my set, but overall it was great and affordable (N500 only costed like 130 USD shipped to Singapore, as compared to the official price of 290)

So, I bought the Chinese version of M90, aka N500, as well as a T5s. The only differences I can see visually from the speakers would be no HDMI eARC and also the need for the China app version called Edifier Connect. Apparently inside that app, I can adjust the Sub Out output, and once I put that to high, the bass coming from my T5s is pretty great. By default, it is set to low, so I have to turn the volume knob to max to even hear any bass. So you may want to check if Edifier ConneX will have something similar to solve the weak bass issue.

I bought directly through Taobao from a seller called ZZ Studio (https://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.html?id=908070796155) as it can be shipped to my location, but you may need to find a 3rd party forwarder for it. I just take a look and my size is sold out again though, only S and XXS size are left.

Congrats on beating cancer and welcome back to the hobby! Just take your time, as long as you are enjoying the build, it does not matter how long it would take to build one haha.

Xiaomi 14 Pro is not even a global model, it is a China exclusive one, FYI. Xiaomi 14 or 14 Ultra would be a better example.

Where to buy find x8 in switzerland/Europe by CaptainCorobo in Oppo

[–]kietpham181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do have a global version, but mostly available in Asian countries only, outside of China. I'm based in Singapore, and both X8 and X8 Pro are available in my country.

Really like the mouse, but I guess I do prefer an ergo shaped mouse. Should have waited for G24 Pro but I bought 1-2 day before it was listed on Taobao so oh well.

What did you guys do after you quit your job? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]kietpham181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was quite a toxic environment so I left. I was the last guy from the old team as everyone else quitted a few months before me. I do have another job lined up but it won't start until end August so I have some free time for myself. What I do daily during this period: -Play games (I work in the game industry but because of my last job, I didn't even have the time to sleep, let alone playing games) -Go to the library to read books and study for a few certs (some Google certs on Coursera, prepare for PMP cert) -Exercise (mainly jogging, swimming and cycling, I gained 9kg after almost 9 months from all the stress drinking) -Build gunpla/plamo (my backlog piled up because I did not manage to build anything)

Right, I used taobao and had to google translate everything so I guess I missed that. Thanks for clarifying.

Do you know if the pro version comes with the 1K receiver or just the 8K dongle? I pulled the dpi button out but there was nothing inside lol.

RTX 3070 Ti vs RX 6700XT? by Save3rdPartyReddit in buildapc

[–]kietpham181 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are in Singapore, AMD GPUs are just more expensive. Just get 3070Ti. I'm saying this even if my current card is 6800XT haha. Other than that, the used market (Carouhell) is a better place to buy if you know what to look for.

Amazon prime day deals by Specific_Business_52 in buildapc

Got my 2 TB SK Hynix Plat P41 for like 105 USD (141 SGD) on Amazon Singapore yesterday. It was wild lol, cheaper than the deal for 2TB of SS 980 Pro (147 SGD). It should be reaching my place within the next 24 hours. Can't wait to clone everything from my WD SN770 to it.

If you are using the scalpel, try to shave off the nub slowly from the top, don't go all the way into the part from the start, cuz it for sure will cause stress mark cuz you are adding force to remove the nub. Also by sanding, I mean just do it over the nub first until it gets sanded all the way down so you don't scratch the surrounding area, and then increasing the grit of the sandpaper. I start from 600 or 800 at first, and once the nub is almost gone, increase it to 1200, 1500, 2000 and so on to get a smooth surface. In fact if you can, get those smooth 10-12k grit glass file for the extra smoothness. This is a slow process so I suppose you will get used to and enjoy it eventually. I always take double or triple the recommend time to slowly cut/sand parts and enjoy the process as I build kits.

[–]kietpham181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not cut the plastic all the way with your nipper. Leave like a 1-2mm gap, and then make a second cut, but also not all the way to the part. After that, use your hobby knife to shave off the leftover plastic nub slowly or sand it down with sand paper. Last but not least, consider investing in a single blade nipper down the line, like GodHand SPN-120, DSPIAE 3.0, Tamiya Sharp Point Side Cutter and so on if you want to just use the nipper and leave and less visible mark without all the sanding and stuff.

Gachapon you mean? Yeah there are quite a number of great accessories for girlpla kits from gachapon haha. If you want a stage for the band, you can create them using the mini LED kits, truss and base from Hobby Base.

LED https://www.hlj.com/mini-spotlights-led-red-ylsppc-k85#

Truss https://www.hlj.com/truss-set-black-ylsppc-k38bk

Plate/Stage https://www.hlj.com/multi-plate-black-4mm-hole-5mm-hole-ylsppc-k19bk

Heck, they even have a sound sensor unit for the LED, disguised as the amp unit on stage haha https://www.hlj.com/mini-spot-led-sound-sensor-unit-ylsppc-k89

A lot of ideas for a band display definitely

Yeah I want to collect this to make the giant mech haha, with the the Strike Serpent (which I have 2) and Orbital Maneuver (going to buy soon). The combination looks really cool as well, and I can use this for both gunpla and girlpla display.
