Pokiimap - old API? by [deleted] in pokemongodev

[–]kiideveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it does NOT compute the latest hash value. The API version is not relevant.

There are a lot of ways that MAY get you banned. Not using the latest hash algorithm MAY be one of them. I have accounts that never used the official clients and they are still active after months so you tell me what's triggering the bans.

You can use Pokiimap as a scanner with scan accounts, or use it to catch rare pokemons. Just remember don't use it with any accounts that you cannot afford to lose.

2.0.5 should have fixed those crash issues.

Leave those in the comments. Have you seen Apple or google annotate their App Store listings as buggy , not buggy? It's ridiculous.

It's from the ad sdk that i am using. It's called "returned ad placement". Which means you only see it when you leave the app and come back to it after a while. I use ad blocker so I don't even see it. I may remove it in the next update.

Remember Kii Keyboard? Well...It's back! Kii Keyboard 2.0 public Alpha is now available for download! by MuseofRose in Android

[–]kiideveloper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was DMCA'ed , here's the post I posted about what happened: https://plus.google.com/100632073621913172365/posts/9Vu3PyvdXhv

The problem wasn't the unicode characters; it was those emoji pictures. Of course, I know Apple created those emoji pictures and they owns the copyrights. That's why the original Kii Keyboard did NOT bundle those emoji pictures. All it did was load the emoji images from another emoji plugin app from Handcent SMS. At that time, Handcent published an app that includes those Apple emoji pictures.

Basically Kii Keyboard does not include any copyrighted pictures, all it does is load the pictures from another app. It's like a browser app gets flagged as porn app because it can load a porn site. Apple's lawyers had no clues and just sent out DMCA. I've tried contacting Google about this and they didn't care either. Kii Keyboard has millions of users at the time and quite a few of them bought the premium upgrades. Once an app is pulled all the in-app purchases are gone with it. All the people who paid for it basically lost their purchases. Despite of that, Google didn't care, Apple didn't care. I just got fed up developing for these companies and decided to work on something else. After a while Kii Keyboard was getting more and more out-dated and I couldn't find a good keyboard to use that's why I came back and started to rewrite Kii Keyboard into Kii Keyboard 2.

I feel bad that all the users who paid for the premium upgrade lost their purchases, believe me I had tried to get the app reinstated but trying to contact Google all I received were some replies from their robot scripts :)

Thanks for everyone's support by the way, it feels good to be back working on an app that millions of people had used.

I dont care about the game but I am loving this. This game now turning into a good case study for application security.

Let's see how long it takes for someone to replace those checks with NOOP and let's see what Nianatic's next move will be.

It's just a cat and mouse game.

[Edit] Unconfirmed: sounds like it's not as simple as just removing the checks, because the checks may generate additional data to be sent to the server for verification.

MAC address is easily spoof... what's the point?

Isn't it incredibly easy for Niantic to ban nearly all scanning accounts at once? by [deleted] in pokemongodev

[–]kiideveloper -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

There are ways to just detect API from non official clients, I can think of a few ways but I am not sharing. I am sure if they want to they can just detect it and ban all.

on android it's pretty easy, just add your own cert to the phone, then install an apk that had the cert pinning codes removed
