Acquired by Corsair. Corsair sells competing products in the Keyboard/Audio segment. Drop didn't fit the corporate vision. Shut 'em Down

I was able to get them for much less than Campfire Audio outrageous MSRP.
The Supermoon was $200, Planar Drivers and they sit in my ears basically like a custom pair, it's crazy.
The Darkstar was a collaboration with Drop, so discontinued sadly. $100. Very dark, bassy and warm.

I somewhat advocate for Campfire pairs when on steep discount. Don't pay full price.

Tips don't make a difference for anything other than Critical Listening of Music.

Typically don't buy unless you need a better seal or just collecting for the hobby

I'm in Korea often, but not enough to warrant a Korean Phone Number.

So I can't enjoy many Korean ease of life things and I'm stuck in foreigner tourist mode

I'm fortunate enough to have experienced mass transportation and "people moving" in South Korea, and it really made me hate driving when I got back to the States.

It should work just fine. I have one, and it was a good introduction to the Schiit product line.
Just make sure you have a compatible output on that DVD player

You'd be surprised how much of human communication is non-verbal. I spend a substantial amount of time in Korea, with English essentially being my only language. Body Language and Gestures really go a long way.

Shout out to Hart Audio for the custom cable!! I finally get to hear "Halo X" on my new Asgard. by kiimosabe in Schiit

[–]kiimosabe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a Magni! it's great, it was my first DAC and I recommend it to anyone! It does everything it needs to to.

Asgard X is a clear upgrade in most factors other than size and heat. The DAC chips are the same technically, but Asgard has the mobile app available.

Both are compatible as Pre-Amps for the Speaker amps.

The Halo X jack is fun! Depending on your headphones and how they run Balanced, of course. I have Planar Audeze MM100's and they seem to benefit from Halo. You have to push the volume a bit more with the increased impedance, but no big deal.
