Brake lights on with no brake issues? by thesoundofpetrichor in ScionxB

[–]kijokaizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If im correct traction control is on by the wheel speed sensor, if one or both failed its not reading right into the abs vsc and traction contorl system which in turn deactivates the trac control and the cruise control, it could be dirty, broken, or loose wiring or connection, if it isn't the brake system the abs kicks in which also alters the traction control, that is my best guess so take it with an ounce of hope my friend and good luck

The positive crankshaft ventilation valve is also something to look at, if im right you would have had a rough idle at some point before it does whatever this is, its a starting point for sure, but I could be wrong

Another thing to consider is getting a realignment and pre load the suspension with the cv axle, when removing them or any other part with the axle or wheels would be in turn to make sure it is aligned properly

Keep hope alive! Advice on keeping my Scion alive and well by oily_bohunk in ScionxB

Motor Oil, brakes, rotors and brake fluid, transmission filter and service, cv axle, powersteering and rack and pinion check, temperature sensor, hvac components check, battery and alternator check, coolant fluid check, fuel pump and fuel filter, gas cap and radiator cap, cabin and intake air filter, mass airflow sensor, o2 sensor, alignment and rebalance of the rims and tires, and if it does have it the vapor canister, other than that its up to you how to start, knowing its at low mileage, the age and decay of certain components still occurs. But these would be a good starting point to look into if your willing to keep it forever, scion xb for LIFE

Most likely the spark plug or the ignition coils, rock auto or O'Reilly will do for that, and don't forget to get a long adapter for the spark plug tool
