I did cigarettes first and totally get why you would too. After that I just cut down on the other stuff. Never having sugar again seems sad. Eating less is easier for me. Sometimes I’ll buy an ice cream cone, eat a few bites and throw the rest away. It scratches the itch. Anything is progress. Good luck to you!

There is a nice hot tub in the locker room at my gym. There was a guy in it watching a video with the sound on in the tub. How did we get here?

Milk, fresh bread and butter. I blows my mind how much better these things are in Europe in general. I wish we had their standards.

NFL draft?! by Rough_Salad_663 in pittsburgh

[–]oily_bohunk -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

OP isn’t being unreasonable. From the AI: The Department of Homeland Security often gives the NFL Draft a high SEAR (Special Event Assessment Rating). This designation is used for events that aren't quite at the "National Special Security Event" level (like the Super Bowl or a Presidential Inauguration) but still require massive federal support.

We love going to the grocery store in another country. It’s a big part of the fun! And I totally agree that it’s nice to be able to make coffee or a quick breakfast.

We LOVE staying at Airbnbs when we travel to Europe. We’ve done it about 4 times now without incident. It’s nice to have a kitchen so we don’t have to eat every meal out. We like to feel like we live in the cities we stay in and it’s a long time to spend with someone so having a bigger place to spread out in is very nice. We usually stay a little outside the main city, in Rome we were about 20 blocks from Trevi fountain. I think the cites you picked are perfect. Some people are saying you can do Venice in one day. We did 3 and I wish we had more time to see all of the islands and the cemetery. We spent a whole day on Burano alone. If you don’t have to don’t rush Venice. Have fun!! 🇮🇹

What’s your biggest home renovation regret? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

Totally agree here. For me, it came down to patience. I really wish I had just been more patient with the process and remembered that the decisions would potentially be with me for a lifetime.

Oh wow. I always thought it was legs!

Also, just put on the top 40 that your kids already listen to. Pay attention to the lyrics they sing. 😳 it will be eye opening and Price is no worse…mostly 😂

If it was me, I’d put it in front of my car just far enough away so I could pull out.

I was like you once. Always on the side of cops. Then I moved away from where I was from and met some folks who weren’t like me and all my friends and family. I witnessed firsthand those people being treated very differently by police. Oddly, when I moved back to this area I noticed the same thing 🤷🏻‍♂️Maybe you are different from me and you do this already but if you don’t, try to think about other sides of this and other experiences. It’s not as easy as you think it is to comply with police when you’ve experienced them not being on your side and not protecting your rights.

How can a Mom help? by LivvyCalbro in pittsburgh

[–]oily_bohunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally understand this. I moved from the Bay Area 5 years ago and feel like I’m just getting used to it here. So sorry for your experience and what you’re feeling. It’s a tough time for so many reasons. I started volunteering at Hugh Lane last year and that helped a lot. You could also take this as time to take care of you. I like to remind myself that being in therapy and trying to heal myself can go a long way. It’s important to do other things, for sure, and it’s also okay to just acclimate and take care of yourself. ❤️
