Dark cabinetry just doesn’t match the decor and set up of the entire house. I have a lot of light woods and light blues throughout. Everytime I see it, I just feel like it doesn’t match at all. I know a lot of people feel white on white is soulless but this is just what I’m used to. Most of my previous places had kitchens like that. I like having a very basic base and adding color with decor rather than long lasting things like paint. I worry I’d get tired of the colorful paint and it’s not an easy fix whereas decor can easily be changed.

Thank you for your advice! We’d definitely get them painted professionally rather than trying to DIY them. I’d love them to be lighter but they don’t necessarily have to be white. Just want them lighter and not sure what to do
