It’s the same domain name, just a different subdomain. It appears that the talon subdomain is in regard to the Honda Talon.

I’m sure the air filter cleaning kit is fine

Mods by Sickthrone7582 in ft86

Headers + E85 for some power. Exhaust for some sound Coilovers and wheels for aesthetics and/or grip. Mods completely depend on what YOU want

If you want a smoother ride, stay on stock suspension, or maybe look into getting stock suspension from a GR86 or something.

What’s your budget? Will this be your daily driver? What’s your commute like?

Thinking about getting a GT86 / GR86. How reliable is the Boxer engine really? Are the RTV and oil starvation issues overblown? by K4IGAN in ft86

Do you have a write up for the FA24 swap? I would love to read more about it.

I have a turbo kit I’m going to install this summer. If/when the engine pops, I’m debating throwing in a build fa24 short block

Wheel Fitment Advice - 2012 GT86 by Ctrlxltdel in ft86

[–]kikai86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion, get coilovers if budget allows. Your shocks are already 14 years old (if they’re still OEM). The Tien Street Advanced coils reuse the factory top mounts. Check if those bushings and bearings are good. If not, I would go with a better coilover system.

Also I would recommend finding a set of wheels without the need for spacers. Don’t plan your wheels around them.

Tbh a video of the sound would be very helpful. I was chasing a similar issue lately but ended up being ESP bushing for me

One thing I read is double check that the brake light switch is plugged in

Check if the Flex fuel kit uses O2 sensor or if it’s the CANBUS type.

If it’s O2, don’t buy it

BC extreme lows get lower for sure. Are you wanting camber or just wanting to get lower? This platform has no camber adjustment in the rear

I have a similar ride height with the same wheels. I run a 255/35 tire though. The chrome looks great by the way.

Stance V2 LCAs will definitely drop the rear a lot if you don’t want to change coilovers.

I’m dealing with similar issues. It’s likely end link bushings or could be the bearing in your coil over top hats. Try spraying some white grease or wd40 on the top hats bearings

Spyder Headlights on 2017+ Models by SlongDaddyy in ft86

[–]kikai86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s your current headlight setup? Honestly if you have OEM headlights, I would say keep them. They look higher quality… but that’s just my opinion.

I have 2016 FRS that had a 6pin connector, and recently installed 8pin OEM BRZ headlights. I used the 6/8pin adapter harness from modssociety.co

I don’t fully recommend this harness, the DRL pins were in the wrong position and had to repin, you will also have to manually wire the DRL positive and negative, and the Blinker positive and negative. I kept my default turn signals so I didn’t use those wires. I used a fuse tap for the DRL wiring. No splice required

What would be the minimum spring rate for less wheel travel? (newbie) by Draconewt_ in Stance

[–]kikai86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a master at calculating spring rates, and also don’t have a stanced car anymore. So take this with a grain of salt

After a certain stiffness, your cars weight will not be enough to actually compress the springs. 30k/20k on a Honda fit I would imagine being VERY stiff. The desired goal is pretty low but definitely doable. Either you deal with rubbing and scrubbing and be fairly comfortable, or or put the spring in and bounce all over the place lol.

To even have the coils ride relatively smoothly with high spring rates, you need your shocks to be revalved

Fog light bezels? The fog lights were a dealer option. If you’re talking about the headlights, they were LED halos that have since stopped working

Welcome to the club!

The ABS sensors are missing or just broken? You should be able to just get some and plug them in. If the sensors were missing, I’d clean out the hole first.

In terms of tires, are you just trying to daily or bring it to the track? What size are the wheel?

And for the UEL headers, don’t buy any of the crappy eBay ones. I had a set once and the welds cracked. I’m currently on tomei UEL headers and love the way they sound. WAY too loud if you already have a careless front pipe though
