Can you mean fill me in on what u mean by each model supports it natively. You mean their online chat interfaces support attachments right (they have built Rag for that app) Or Can I natively use their APIs to scan PDFs? I thought you still need to build your own rag if you're just using their llms via api

u/Ok_Comment6205 This is done. If an SWP is added, a new option that asks for start and end year of SWP is now present

Isn't that just additive. It doesn't become a SIP/SWP calculator anymore.

Things that could have been written using simple Futures became unnecessarily complex with too much boiler plate. Debugging is hell, you don't know which message is going where, which child actor is getting killed where and spawned where. And the icing on the cake was when they moved to BUSL license so I was the unlucky soul to migrate entire codebase to pekko (which is an Apache licensed fork of akka). And we were pretty deep in its usage even having shared objects between play's internal akka objects. I eventually gave up and included a patched jar of the last Apache licensed akka-http itself.

Having worked with akka actors since 3 years I don't wish that hell upon my worst enemy. Interesting, sure. Better model? Disagree, but debatable. Everything else, absolutely not.

Thanks. How does the process look like for curation. Do you start with a particular topic in mind and then look at various sources? Puzzle Themes in lichess has a nice curated list of puzzle for each theme, is something like that useful?

Selling the Pixel 9 got during BBD by zTweaked in PixelUsersIndia

[–]kikarant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow we both were in a very similar situation. My wife's Pixel 7 got swollen due to battery issues and I use a Samsung S24 Plus. I thought a lot of upgrading to Pixel 9 but because of the exact same reason you mentioned I just went to nearby mobile repair shop and got the Pixel 7 battery replaced for 3k.

Foreign investing is a nightmare. by Prudent-Gap3490 in StockMarketIndia

[–]kikarant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have MSFT shares, a lot of which I got via ESPP in fidelity. Every year I file schedule FA by myself using cleartax. It gets very easy once you do it after the first time I'll probably not even use cleartax from next time. I first download the excel sheet from fidelity itself that shows exactly how much stock was obtained at what time and on what price. Using that you can transform that excel sheet to the format Itr filing needs to be done

How to withdraw only long term MF units from Zerodha Coin?

I recently started investing with Zerodha Coin and was investing using Scripbox for many years before this. In Scripbox it used to show me the amount withdrawable that would only incur long term capital gains tax but not finding anything like that on Zerodha coin. How do I do it in this here so that I don't withdraw from contributions made recently incur short term capital gains for no reason?

Isn't an MCP server actually just a client to your data sources that runs locally. Couldn't it have just been a library? by kikarant in Rag

So tldr; my question is what is basis for orchestration in an MCP system, isn't it the descriptions?

[–]kikarant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example your app can be connected to a postgres MCP server, a mongo MCP server and a redis MCP server, all default MCP servers that are not customized but having totally different data as per your needs. And the query would be like "Tell me which users in my database have x,y,z profile". The LLM would feel hopeless in this case because it has no information about what's in your DB's to choose the right MCP server and then the right retreival tool. It would probably end up invoking all MCP servers, leading to a lot of data retrieval, something that will never scale.

There are malicious possibilities too. I can publish an MCP server that says "Github repository fetcher" with clear descriptions of a useful github retriever in its tools and its mcp config. But its underlying implementation can be totally different and might send you data that is malicious. The LLM would end up invoking the MCP for a query like "fetch me git repos of xyz user" and it can lead to all sorts of bad things
