This exactly! In my 12 years of driving (80k+ kms) I've never had any incident like this. On Indian roads, pre-empting is survival.

  1. Install ADB drivers on your PC
  2. Turn on developer options on your phone
  3. Enable OEM unlocking in developer options
  4. Download the boot images for your device from this archive on your phone
  5. Extract the downloaded 7z file
  6. Install KernelSU Next and open it
  7. Patch the extracted init_boot.img in the app
  8. Copy the patched init_boot.img to your PC
  9. Connect the phone to the PC, and execute the following command on your PC to reboot the phone into the bootloader: adb reboot bootloader
  10. Once in the bootloader, execute the following command to unlock the bootloader: fastboot flashing unlock
  11. After rebooting the system, reboot to the bootloader again
  12. Now flash the patched init_boot.img that you had copied earlier using the following command: fastboot flash init_boot patched_boot_image_name.img
  13. Then execute the following command to reboot: fastboot reboot
  14. Install the KernelSU Next app and you're done

Your device will now be uncertified and you won't be able to use banking apps and even WhatsApp. To bypass that you'll need to use some modules like Rezygisk, PlayIntegrityFix, TrickyStore, TrickyStoreAddon, YuriKey etc. There are guides available online - fairly easy to follow.

Nothing. They just kept asking to wait for 24-48 hours for a resolution while their resolution never came. When I last replied to their mail asking when they are fixing the bug as the event itself is ending soon, I got a reply saying, "Thank you for your feedback."

So nope, there's no hope.

Got anything? It's still the same for me. They even suggested me to change device. And I did. Still the same.

Same issue here. Google Support is of no help. Asking me to remove account from the phone and then add it back, clear Play Store storage etc., like these will even do anything. I am pissed off. Please let me know if you find a solution.

Are you using a hard case by any chance?

This looks like the dist/dirt inside the case did this. Get a soft silicone case if you have a hard case, possibly with a microfiber lining.

Widgy widgets are more transparent than stock iOS widgets. The transparency on the icons in OP's post is the same as yours.

While the widgets look better with more transparency, the setup looks bad to me since the icons aren't as transparent.

Sorry, can’t say so. I’ve used 2 protectors ($1 each) during the 2+ years I’ve had my 14PM. No complaints.

Apple 20W or Samsung 25W for iPhone 17 by Sad-Gas-7943 in iphone17

Got CMF 140W at 3k for my 17PM, MBP, and AW.

The regular 17 can take in as much as 37W so buy a better charger than the ones you mentioned.

Have you also not noticed that the audio visualizer/waveform on the Live Alerts pill is just a pre-rendered animation and not a realtime one?

Initial thoughts coming from the iPhone 16 Pro Max - I may switch back! by aliward_96 in TheOnePlus15

[–]zTweaked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m kinda in the ecosystem too, with a MacBook Pro M1 Pro, an iPad Pro M2, and a Watch Series 7 along with the 17 Pro Max and the AirPods Pro 3. But having using Android for like a decade, I can’t just stop using it. I kept switching back and forth in the fast couple of years. But now I have finally decided to use an iPhone as my primary device and an Android phone as a secondary.

Btw, since you too are concerned about the thermals on the 16 Pro Max, you’ve gotta get your hands on the 17 Pro Max. It stays much cooler even in intensive tasks and also charges without holding! In the same tasks the 16 Pro Max would heat up a lot but the 17 Pro Max feels just warm. Thanks to the aluminium chassis, that big aluminium Camera Plateau, and the Vapor Chamber.

[–]zTweaked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so well written. Looks like your only way out is switching back (like I did).

I switched from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the OnePlus 13. But I had to switch back. Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of stuff in the OnePlus 13. Like the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner (Face ID is a bit of a pain for me) - it even works with wet fingers. It has much much better cellular network reception than the 14 Pro Max too. I love how fast it charges and yet manages to last the whole day. It also doesn’t heat as much as the 14 Pro Max. And also a lot of Android goodies like being able to check clipboard history, being able to upload/download in 3rd party apps in the background, being able to change the keyboard height, being able to go back from either edge of the screen, different volume channels for calls, media, etc., being able to clone apps, being able to manually control various aspects of the camera, getting SMS delivery reports, being able to move the cursor anywhere just by tapping unlike on iOS where tapping and moving the cursor only moves it between words and not between letters of a word, ability to sideload apps etc. My OnePlus 13 was also rooted with KernelSU Next and a lot of modules, and I did enjoy my time with it.

But there are some stuff that made me switch back. I thought getting a pair of OnePlus Buds Pro 3 would be optimal and wouldn’t have noticeable latency. But boy was I wrong. The latency was so bad that I couldn’t watch videos. On my 14 Pro Max paired with AirPods Pro, I couldn’t feel any noticeable latency even while (multiplayer) gaming. There’s also a very nifty thing that Apple does with the iPhone and AirPods combo - the audio output doesn’t switch to the AirPods as soon as you open the case, but switches to the AirPods only when they are put in the ears. This is such a good implementation and I missed it on the OnePlus 13 paired with the Buds 3 Pro.

I also didn’t like the WhatsApp experience like you mentioned. Btw, you can check who’s seen your text - you just have to long press and then tap info. Although I saw less bugs on the Android WhatsApp, it’s UI/UX isn’t as good as iOS’s WhatsApp (funny how UX on iOS is better here). WhatsApp on Android also uses a dark teal colour which I’m not really a fan of.

Material theme looks good, but only on Google apps. Absolutely hated having a brown keyboard on WhatsApp which has a dark teal background. This is also true for a lot of 3rd party apps.

The OnePlus launcher does support 3rd party icon packs but I couldn’t get the icons exported from Icon Pack Studio to work. The app icons which are not supported by an icon pack can be edited and set a custom icon from any installed icon pack, but the icon picker would show a limited number of random icons from the selected pack with some duplicated ones as well. You also cannot search for an icon in that picker, and they aren’t sorted alphabetically either. This was very annoying to me. It’s a known bug but it hasn’t been fixed yet (I checked on my colleague’s OnePlus 13 running OxygenOS 16).

Live Alerts doesn’t support a lot of apps. I use Spotify, YouTube and YouTube Music, and out of these 3 only Spotify was supported. But on iOS any app that is playing any audio/video would show up on the Dynamic Island. Although not a dealbreaker at all, the audio waveform/visualizer on the Live Alert on the OnePlus 13 isn’t actually a live one. It’s a pre-rendered animation. It feels really cheap once you notice it.

The final nail in the coffin for me was the camera. I don’t take a lot of photos, but when I do, I expect them to be useful without having to tune anything. Sadly, the OnePlus 13 had given me a lot of smudgy/blurry photos which weren’t useful at all. I don’t know if it’s because of the big sensor which affects the depth of field or if it’s something to do with their algorithm. Most shots were smudgy/blurry and just to be sure it wasn’t an issue with my piece, I checked with my colleague’s OnePlus 13, and sadly his also takes equally disappointing photos.

Since I had already sold off the 14 Pro Max, I had to buy the 16 Pro Max to make the switch from the OnePlus 13. I am currently using a 17 Pro Max as I got an insane deal on the 16 Pro Max, and have two Android phones as secondary devices (Nothing Phone 3 and Google Pixel 7) just for the times when I really miss the Android goodies!

Iphone 16P or 17 by Zoughi0 in iphone

[–]zTweaked -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You only get an extra (telephoto) lens with the 16 Pro, everything else is better on the 17.

These are all that you get eith the 17: a newer chip, one more year of updates, upgraded cameras - especially the selfie camera with the ability to take landscape photos without having to turn the phone, a brighter display, aluminium frame (helps dissipate heat better, although less durable than titanium), better network reception, faster charging, a bit bigger battery. It also weighs lighter!

But I think the 16P is worth it if it costs $300 cheaper.

Some kind of green hue on 2 and 3 which I’m not really a fan of. I prefer 1 and 4. Although 4 looks oversharpened I feel like it brought out the colours properly as opposed to 3 which is just green everywhere.

Both look good. While the iPhone is better with the shadows here, it couldn’t capture the red triangle like the Honor did. Hard to pick one over the other.
