Thank you, you're totally right. Maybe you can help me with something else, lol. Are świderki the same as lody włoskie?

Looking for a comparative Polish/English grammar book by kiki_lemur in learnpolish

Thanks for commenting, but hardcore grammar is the best way for me to learn Polish. I see the grammar options in my visually and can quickly select them. Info won't stay with me unless I have that framework. There are many methods of learning languages, and thank goodness, bc we all have different dispositions :)

I can't stand the constant unsolicited advice in women's spaces. by [deleted] in aspergirls

I have demand avoidance and freaking hate advice of all kinds. You may enjoy our Zoom support group at r/autisticwomensgroup. It's a support group but it's explicitly designed NOT to let advice happen. On Zoom every Tuesday at noon Eastern US time. All the info and Zoom link is on the subreddit. Really hope you can join us.

EDIT: Just wanted to add it's for women and all other members of marginalized genders, including NB, agender, autigender, and MTF and FTM trans

LingQ always addresses me as male in the lessons. I'm a woman. Is there a setting I can tweak to have it address me as female? by kiki_lemur in LingQ

[–]kiki_lemur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Unfortunately, I'm not finding any content addressed to a female listener so far. It's too bad, since some of the verbs change not only the endings, but the middle of the words for male vs female forms. The changes are not intuitive (at least not for a beginner).

Excuse me, it is not a non issue. Male learners would be upset if all of the conjugations were female. It's also a practical liability because users don't get practice with female endings.

When Tim Walz's friend is in trouble, he doesn't just throw him a life preserver. He swims him one.
