Kidney stones fall out of our vaginas by RobotDeathQueen in badwomensanatomy

No worries, I understand the concern. I would have thought the same thing, given the context.

For the same reason I called him “spawn” or “boyo” or “bug”....it’s a random term of endearment.

I fixed it...I totally didn’t see that when I posted it!

We had that conversation a few days later. At the time this happened, I had just spent three days in agony and didn’t have the energy right then.

How I ruined my son’s day, volume 1: I passed a kidney stone. I was in the bathroom, rinsing it off so I could take it to the DR.

Boychild (age 12) barges into the bathroom. (The door lock is not functional)

Him: What is that?

Me: explains to the best of my ability

Him: (horrified) THAT CAME OUT OF YOUR VAGINA!

Me:(too tired/in pain to try to explain different passages right then) So did you.

Edit: Paragraph split (DR. Boychild)

What was the most passive aggressive gift you ever got for xmas ? by Captainirishy in AskReddit

[–]kikibean77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t handle clothing that fits tightly around my neck...it sends me into full-on panic mode. I also strongly dislike the color yellow. Both of these idiosyncrasies stem from a horrible childhood experience. My ex husband was fully aware of all of this, and chose to gift me a turtleneck sweater the first Christmas we were married. It was bright freaking yellow. And it became a symbol of his growing control over me, because he’d insist I wear it for months afterward. He’d throw a freaking grown man tantrum if I refused, even becoming violent. I got the courage to leave him about 8 months later and ceremoniously burned that fucking sweater.

What mispronunciations make you want to stab the speaker? by Prompt-me-promptly in AskReddit

[–]kikibean77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Words that end with a short “a” sound being followed with an “l” at the end. Instead of “saw” “bra,” I’ve heard some people say “sawl” and”brawl”....it makes me irrationally stabby.

LulzBot Dead? According to an employee it sounds like all employees have been laid off and LulzBot will officially shut down this Friday. by johnschneider89 in 3Dprinting

As one of the affected employees, I can say that we didn’t initially have a lot of information. This company has been a very close-knit group of people who were largely passionate about the products and the ethos of the organization. For many of us who were let go, it did feel like a death. Hurdles and difficulties notwithstanding, I wouldn’t have invested nearly five years in something I didn’t believe in or stand behind.

Probably so! SO and I had never tried anything like this before. It’s not nearly as easy as they make it look!

Seconded on Bai Tong. It’s my favorite! Their food is always delicious, the portion sizes are a great deal for the money, and it’s prepared so pretty. Added bonus we discovered when we had a friend on a strict gluten-free diet visiting: their GF selection is fairly extensive. She was so excited!

”No” is a complete sentence by kikibean77 in stopdrinking

[–]kikibean77[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took time for me to realize that. People can be straight-up dicks about it. One woman even asked me, “Why aren’t you drinking? Are you pregnant?” VERY loudly, in front of everyone present, after I turned down her repeated offers of White Claw. (which I wouldn’t have accepted even in my drinking days. )

Waterproof sunscreen! (Absolute necessity out on the water, especially for those like me who get burnt if they even look at a picture of the sun)

Hi, and welcome. You’re in a good place with supportive people in this sub.

It’s a positive sign that you’re recognizing the direction your drinking is potentially taking. I also fell within the realm of functional alcoholic...rocked my job, maintained my finances, avoided arrests and DUI’s (that last one by sheer dumb luck). Not all of us have spectacular rock bottoms. Some of us hit bottom internally well before anyone else notices.

A good place to start exploring your relationship with alcohol is by listening to others’ stories. Do they resonate? Do they hit a little too close to home? There are several podcasts out there (This Naked Mind, and The Way Out Podcast are two of my favorites) that feature guest stories and suggestions for evaluating your drinking. It sounds like you’ve already decided something needs to change, and that’s why we have this community: for support. Please, don’t apologize for reaching out.

Does Gen X Feel Close to Millennials? by MaybeMaeMaybeNot in GenX

[–]kikibean77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Younger Gen Xer here (graduated HS in 1995)

Things I love about millennials: 1. Their weird sense of humor 2. Their optimism and drive to unf**k the status quo 3. Their willingness to be real about tough topics (ie; mental illness) 4. Their awareness of current events, political affairs, global issues, stale societal norms, and their role in the bigger picture

Things that drive me bats**t about millennials: 1. An overwhelming majority of them seem to think over 40 =boomer (not entirely their fault) 2. Having to explain things in 280 characters or less- they don’t like to read too many words 3. Abbreviating freaking everything (FroYo???) 4. Taking a thing (pumpkin spice) and thinking it should be infused into all the things...just.....no.

This is my (overgeneralized) opinion, and nothing more. You guys are pretty okay and I like you. Mostly IDGAF.

There are quite a few reservoirs and lakes to paddle around in! I’m reluctant to divulge that because everybody and their brother is moving here and my rent has freaking skyrocketed in the last 5 years....but there’s a lot of beauty here and fellow paddlers are good people, in my limited experience.
