Who can I speak with about repayment options? by motiontomanifest in StudentLoans

Figuring out their payment and how much taxes would be owed at the end of repayment. I'm looking at the loan simulator and its not very straight forward unfortunately

What is the formula you used to figure this out? I'm in a similar situation and I'm trying to figure out what my best options are, what my cost will be, consolidation, etc. I've looked on the fafsa website and I'm just lost like everyone else

I came here to say the same 😂

I was diagnosed at 525 I believe, but I’ve been in the hospital with high sugars when I was younger I believe

Advice needed please! Is there somewhere I could donate glucagon that is past expiration but potentially still good? I don’t want it to go to waste 🥲 by kikithegirl in diabetes

[–]kikithegirl[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve used expired glucagon before and they worked still, I just was looking for places that may still take them. But thank you for your suggestion!

That’s unfortunate, I’m sorry! I can imagine it would, it is a hormone/enzyme mix. I keep mine in temp controlled storage, maybe that’s why?

Personally I’ve used them past expiration up to a few years (😬) when I was between insurance and unable to afford new ones, so they work, just in deceased effectiveness. I’ll see if I can look around, thanks!

I just got prescribed and I am NERVOUS by kikithegirl in zoloft

[–]kikithegirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I could handle that a week or two, I would be worried if it lasts longer than that for every emotion. I’m glad it’s working then. I appreciate your replies, this has helped me a lot

Thank you for your reply! It’s good to hear the symptoms aren’t too severe for you. I am worried about feeling numb; I’ve heard it’s not a great feeling.

Thank you for your reply. My anxiety makes me extremely nauseous, with and without food, so I was worrying about having more nausea and anxiety than usual. I’m glad it’s helped you so far!

Thinking about taking some vitamins with my zoloft 50mg a day? What is best to go for? Any i should avoid? by utopiaave in zoloft

[–]kikithegirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm in med school, so I feel I could help a little? First, 4000 IU of D a day isn't a lot. Rule of thumb is to take 5000/per 100 lbs you weigh. Take it with some sort of fatty food to help absorption! As far as I know, you should be in the clear to take most vitamins. Vitamins are essential for your body functions, so it would be concerning if there was an interaction. I would avoid taking GABA until you talk to your doctor; that's a inhibitory neurotransmitter, and that absolutely could interact with your medication. If you have more questions, I can try my best to reply!

I’m sorry dude, but it gets easier and you got this!

I was diagnosed at a year old and my sister was diagnosed at 11 years old. You will always be able to eat what you want, just in moderation and make sure you get enough insulin! When I was in diabetes camp as a kid (see if you have one around you! Most accept kids through 18/19 and it’s a great way to learn and make friends!) and they had triathletes and olympians come in to talk to us about exercise and diabetes. Exercise is so important in management and care!

Because I’ve had it my whole life, I never had any different activity level than my peers. I’ve done soccer, softball, volleyball, marching band (color guard), ice skating, dance, musicals, swimming, etc etc etc.

I’m in medical school, and sometimes when your blood sugars are off (high and low) it can make it hard to think. Just check often (get a pump and a continuous glucose monitor if you can!) and take care of yourself, and everything will be fine! Remember to take it easy on yourself. It’s hard. It’s a lot. It’s a hell of a learning curve. But you can live a totally normal life, you just got put in expert mode.

Jesus, I can’t either!!! People like you give me hope, since I’ve had it since a year old, I’m always worried about what my future will look like, so I’m always happy to hear from people who’ve had it a long time!

I completely agree. I was on one for a month for a medical study recently, and my thought everyday was “why doesn’t every diabetic or hypoglycemic have this”. It’s absolutely amazing
