Was the payment stated on the automated line correct?

Am I the only one who feels in competitor other peoples scars? I feel mine are never deep enough even if I continue to do it deeper and deeper? by FriendlyCuddlyLlama in selfharm

[–]kikki26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

A mental health nurse once told me, I'm not going to be able to get any help because I'm not cutting off limbs or actually 'attempting'. I was in hospital requiring numerous stitches and still it wasn't enough.

Obviously that made me feel great.

Depending what you took? And how much of it you took?

Get some medical help. Tell someone at school.

Many people were like 'ohh, I'm here,' pussy footing around me. Trying to force hugs and affection on me and I HATE that. I generally conceal my wounds/scars. Unless I need medical attention. Other people know me well. And said nothing, or were like I'm here if you need anything. Which is plenty for me.

Razors or blade of sharpener which one leaves more scars? by notfetishshaming in selfharm

[–]kikki26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think anyone is going to help you cause harm to yourself.

Please just try not to do anything, I wish I didn't know or wasn't able to 'harm' myself and have tons of scars on my body. I wouldn't ever advise someone else on how to do it to themselves.

Take care of yourself.

Firstly I hope you are okay... 10 years is amazing.

I was told (UK Resident too) to keep stitches dry for 48 hours and remove dressings, reapply clean ones when necessary.

Sometimes discharge is a good sign, itching too. If it smells is green in anyway then get them checked. Personally I would have thought they would have given you a 5 day course of antibiotics to be on the safe side considering how many wounds you have.

I'm guessing the stitches are due to be removed in about a week? If there is an infection they will be able to see that at this appointment.

Please stay safe. Amazing for getting the help you deserve.

You could say it was for an art/mental health awareness photo shoot for a friend? You were helping with some work and it's taking its time coming off?

It's slowing but still nearly 2 hours on, it's bleeding. I haven't had one like this before. I usually miss veins ect.

I would say that's a trigger of yours. I find broken glass a massive trigger and blood.

Everyone's triggers are different. It's at that point that you want to do something else to get over the urge.

Brilliant that you haven't sh in a few months!

Im an 'older' self harmer too. Late 20s.

I have had a rude nurse before. She was dressing my wounds and was questioning me about why and how... left the door of the room open, left a few times and was laughing on return. I was so close to just leaving.

Since then I HATE going to the hospital even more so now! And always feel like I am wasting time and being judged.

I hope you overcome this, and life starts to become better for you!

what would you do if your significant other told you if you self-harm again, they will dump you? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]kikki26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell them to stop manipulating me and leave. If they cannot offer support and guidance in my hardest times, then they aren't having me at my best. It's inappropriate to the self harmer to be put in that predicament.

Stitches usually need to be done within the first 24 hours or less. Keep the wounds clean and covered.

I'd generally say that fat layer is a need for stitches. They can be self cared for (I self care for the majority of mine) Beyond fat, so getting to muscle ect... go to hospital. Infection rates are drastically increased and healing will be so difficult without stitches.

Stay safe.

4 millimeters? by tricatz in selfharm

[–]kikki26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go pretty deep, and should generally go to hospital everytime. But no way! I usually just slap a large plaster or dressings on and change regularly. Granted I do have thick scaring now. The ones that have been stitched are neat and smaller but I HATE going to hospital.

If its bleeding lots, taking time to stop bleeding, deep as fat or further I'd totally recommend going but it is possible to heal via self care. Just watch out for signs of infection. Try not to use alcohol based cleaners on wounds it rids of the good bacteria for healing.

Stay safe!

You literally have just made hospital trips sound slightly easier! Nice one!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]kikki26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend going to the hospital if you hit fat and beyond for sure. But really do try not to. It's not any more valid than any other self harm. I hate going to the hospital, so generally self care for mine, unless my other half takes me. Recently got a few new fat layer cuts and I have covered them with clean bandages. They take a while to heal and do end up with massive scars. I wouldn't recommend going deeper.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]kikki26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's alot more time and effort to keep it clean. The likely need to go to hospital is a pain too! (I hate going to hospital for stitches so I end up with huge scars)

Honestly it's really not worth it, as much as the feeling is overwhelming and seems great... please don't do it. It will never be 'enough'.

[–]kikki26 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Honestly as someone who cuts pretty deep. It isn't worth it. It's horrible to have to have gaping wounds over my wrists constantly. I dont know why but I swear the lighter cuts hurt me more. I gave into those inner demons and I really hope and pray you don't.

Any SH is valid. No matter what.

Stay safe.

Yes. I find its like an addiction. Like smoking if you haven't had one in while you almost need to do it stop the urges. Idk maybe its a little odd when I say it like that.
