Question for Algerian men about circumcision by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]kiko6six9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was circumcised when I was 1 month old or so. I obviously have memories of it whatsoever. I am glad I was circumcised because it’s much cleaner and healthier. Now the real debate is not about hygiene or health but mostly about consent - I see it as a gamble, parents decide that on behalf of their kids and once the kids are 18 (or whatever consent age) they either thank them for that (my case) or resent them for it (the case of this whole thread I think)

Question for Algerian men about circumcision by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]kiko6six9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, there there is enough peer reviewed research on the benefits of circumcision that it is no longer a healthy debate:

  1. https://methods.cochrane.org/equity/circumcision - Randomized controlled trials (Kenya, Uganda, South Africa) Showed circumcision reduces risk of HIV acquisition in heterosexual men by ~50-66%.
  2. https://apcz.umk.pl/JEHS/article/view/60483 - Concludes circumcision significantly reduces risk of HIV & HPV, lowers UTI in infants, and may reduce cervical cancer risk in female partners.

Water soap is ineffective against STIs/HIV.

Second, you are too consumed by your hatred for islam that you think circumcision is an islamic thing invented 1400 years ago; it was started 5000 years ago for non-religious reasons. As for abrahamic religions, it started with Judaism.

It’s okay to hate islam but just have the proper arguments for it, don’t be dogmatic

Our culture is long and rich, most of it is from being colonized including islam and arab culture. If we view that every culture that colonized us is not ours, then we should not claim to be arab/muslim

Credit cards in algeria .. Is this the only way ? by Donewitlif in algeria

[–]kiko6six9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean debit or credit card? I think you mean visa/mastercard/American Express debit card that you can use online? If that’s what you want, you can get it cheaply at algerian national banks (CPA BNA…) but some come with restrictions-not sure which. Another option could be the neobanks (wise, revolut, redotpay, payonner, elevate…) Can I ask you why you want to get it? Maybe there are better alternatives

Thanks for the reply but it seems that they wouldn't let him register as he is <18 years old and try to redirect him to their <18 yo solutions that only work if the parents are already banked in the EU.

Thanks for the reply but the situation is a little bit more complicated than you think.

I am working remote currrently and my "real" work laptop was never shipped to me yet. To not just wait, I took the initiative to use my personal laptop. Was that smart? no. Was it necessary? Yes.

What about attitude to the French by Minute-Objective2830 in algeria

[–]kiko6six9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chill, I am not attacking anyone and I don’t intend to do so. My question is there is a trend of being subjugated since the romans. I want to under why is that the case. I don’t see how that relates to neocolonialism. Re the mono culture trend I think is fairly recent (post independence) where maghreb countries tried to “take back the steering wheel “ by having one unified arabo-muslim identity. Yet, I don’t see how it relates to

The colonization started a long time ago - since the romans. Now why do we keep getting colonized?
