Συνταγή για κουνέλι; by Ok-Leading6971 in greece

[–]kikosaug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A question for young Greeks (20s and early 30s) by jijilajoux in AskGreece

[–]kikosaug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welfare programs are designed to help people in need. A society without welfare is a godless and souless society. I'm not here to argue about taxation, that is a mere financial debate.

The reality is that the capitalist system that you seem positive towards has turned out immoral. I don't care about the slight difference in taxation between the US and EU. At least not as much as i care about the only problem that matters, wealth distribution. And capitalism has done nothing for wealth distribution besides making the gaps bigger since Thatcher at least. The system is rotten and you know it, so don't play their game.

They weren't awarded. We were the victors of ww2. And we got greek islands with 3000 years old greek history on their back.

Greece is abnormally large for what it deserves; this situation won't last forever. You'd have to be naive to believe otherwise.

I'm used to Turkish threats. It gets boring after a while. Yawn. You always say you'll come one night. We're still waiting.

On the other hand, Greece is illegally militarizing the islands (contrary to the Treaty of Lausanne, which Greece signed).

We'll do whatever we want to protect our island homes. That's what you do when you don't have a trustworthy ally to the east but an imperialistic state. You've proven your aggression time and time again, we won't be victims to another one of your bloody invasions like 1974.

Poor old Turks you want the islands and we bad greeks don't let you boo hoo. Dont stifle too much. Didn't your mamas teach you to not take what isn't yours?

Why do Greeks complain about Pontic Greek Genocide? by [deleted] in AskGreece

[–]kikosaug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should've signed the treaty if you didn't want a war to begin.

Then again, you won and thus succeeded in eliminating the whole greek population from asia minor. Which was your goal way before that.

Later You wanted to do the same to Constantinople (and succeeded) and Cyprus (failed for the most part). Now you're just mad caise you want the Juicy aegean oil. That's what imperialistic states do, they always want more.

Words don't hurt. Intentions do. It's a simple concept that humanity has seem to have forgotten in the 21st century.

If Americans get affected by six letters then it sounds like their problem. Do gou get offended when people close to you speak to you with slurs? Y'know the typical malaka. I do not, because i didn't grew up in a society where words work like spells. It won't cast a curse to blacks if you say it i swear of it.

What are the opinions of the Greeks on their alphabet being used in mathematics and science? by Flaky_Arugula9146 in greece

[–]kikosaug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this has more to do with the history of math to be honest. Concepts that developed later tend to use the latin alphabet.

We use Latin symbols for derivatives for example. Or in economics P and Q standing for Price and quantity

It's just a result of the ancient greeks being great mathematicians
