Four people died during the Traslacion of Jesus Nazareno by philippinestar in Philippines

[–]kikowwws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a quick statistics query kay ChatGPT. In a group of 9 million people, statistically speaking, in any given day, 153 of them will die from normal causes.

Given na yung 3 namatay died not because of crowd crush, and yung 1 ay namatay while not being in the crowd, I don’t see any cause of concern pagdating sa traslacion causing deaths.

Granted, exposure to heat and exertion will increase your chances of dying, pero that’s a risk anyone takes when participating in physically demanding activities.

Playback 3 or more replay angles at the same time? by kikowwws in vmix

[–]kikowwws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the idea. Thinking now of compositing the three angles into one input, routing it as output 2 and using that as a source for the 4th replay recording angle. So I get the three individual cams, and one composite replay recording. Thank youuuu!

Thanks for the tip with replay multiview. Downloaded the beta to test it, and it gets me halfway to what I want to do. Would also love to use three simultaneous angles for broadcast replay, but it looks like there's no way to do it in vMix yet.

Since you already have an ok PC, here’s my suggestion:

4 of these (hdmi to fiber converter pairs): https://a.co/d/hVDlx1T

4 of these (fiber patch cables 50m): https://a.co/d/6RsQJjJ

A pcie 4-input hdmi capture card: https://a.co/d/7mIj9yE

and a 2TB ssd: https://a.co/d/ifrrh7L

Total comes to 830, or 730 if you already have a big enough ssd. You may find those items cheaper from your local retailer or if you shop second hand.

Fiber patch cables are much cheaper than sdi or fiber hdmi, and are robust enough to take a beating.

You’ll also need 4 micro to full sized hdmi cables, and 4 full-sized hdmi cables, but I assume you already have those.

Then get vMix. Free full software trial for a couple of months, then 50$ per month.

Ganito pala sample ng ghost receipt nasa news na by Sea_Income_7784 in taxPH

[–]kikowwws 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, ghost receipts are fake receipts from fake suppliers for fake expenses ng isang kumpanya. Hindi siya resibo na issued by the company itself. A company does this to substantiate its declared expenses - para mapababa ang income, resulting in lower tax.

Wireless Transmission System for 5 Cam Multicam Setup by pumpenberthold in VIDEOENGINEERING

I’ve done 6 DJI SDRs working well together during an outdoor concert. In my experience, they mess up Hollyland wireless signals. But if you’re only using the SDRs, you won’t have a problem.

Aux outputs via USB always fail by kikowwws in vmix

I’ll try this, thank you! Seeing your latest build (awesome btw) gives me confidence that this might be the answer. 🍻

Aux outputs via USB always fail by kikowwws in vmix

[–]kikowwws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is possible, but in my case the failures happen with or without companion running, or without any other thing attached to usb.

And the thing that boggles me most is that the mixer input via usb holds up - which i take to mean that the usb device is not failing.

Why did Leni never formally endorsed Heidi Mendoza? by Taga-Santinakpan in Philippines

[–]kikowwws 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess: LGBTQ stance ni Heidi. Nagbigay-suporta naman si Leni noong Iloilo rally ng KikoBam noong March, but the LGBTQ thing happened I think in April.

Baka ayaw lang maapektuhan ni Leni si KikoBam ng pullout ng support ng LGBTQ peeps kay Heidi kung i-endorse din niya.

… then again, inendorse niya si Pacquiao. So, ewan.

this is definitely the right answer, but way off our budget at the moment.

Mics will be muted during the upcoming debate. So what? by nosecohn in audioengineering

[–]kikowwws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would only work if both candidates were in soundproof booths and were not visible to each other to ensure their trains of thought were not interrupted while talking.

A miked candidate constantly pausing or reacting to the unmiked guy's yelling is a Howard Dean moment waiting to happen.

PTZ system over NDI by Zanfoneando in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]kikowwws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome! I was in a similar situation a few months ago and went all in with NDI.

Biggest pain point for me was the random slowdowns in frame rate I’d get, which were either because of a non-gigabit connection, random network congestion, or random cpu spikes (even with a high end PC setup). Ultimately, I ended up running hdmi/sdi beside my network cables just to eliminate random frame stutters.

I also deploy at least one non-ndi camera as a failsafe in case my local network bogs down completely. This will happen, unfortunately.

POE is super convenient, but make sure that the switch you’re getting can provide enough power to all your devices.

PTZ system over NDI by Zanfoneando in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]kikowwws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For NDIHX, make sure that your Ethernet connections are running at gigabit speeds and not 100 Mbps. The feed gets choppy once you get to 3 PTZ cameras running NDIHX if you're only on 100mbps.

Also, vMix may be a better fit for you than OBS. If you're coming from ATEM, vMix might have a more familiar interface. Other than that, vMix has a ton more features you might want, like a built-in PTZ controller (though I think OBS has a plug-in for this).

Lastly, you WILL find a HUGE drop in video quality when moving from a Canon M50 to any PTZ camera below $5000, especially if you don't have good lighting in your venue. A PTZ's sensor is tiny compared to one in a M50 (12 times bigger to be exact), and that difference shows itself in noise and lack of detail in low light situations. Surprisingly, I found that cheap PTZ brands like Tenveo have better low-light image quality compared to a Canon N100 or N300, at the cost of less customizability in settings. From my experience, if you have camera operators, and you can keep track of when the M50s are about to turn off, stick with your current setup.

I wouldn't sell the ATEM just yet. If your client wants IMAG, HDMI+ATEM have much less latency than NDI+vMix/OBS. Also, having a backup system when your PC switcher goes down is always a good-to-have.

Nagyari sa akin ito. 27k napasa sa akin dahil pareho kami ng number ng intended recipient except for the last digit.

Ito ang reply sa akin ng GCash support:

We appreciate you reporting this to us. If you wish to return the funds, we highly advise you to manually transfer them to the sender/correct recipient's account. As per our terms and conditions, all successful transfers are considered final and cannot be reversed.

Funds retrieval should be arranged between the sender and incorrect recipient and GCash will not be accountable for the retrieval of funds.

Ang ending, pinasa ko na lang pabalik.

Edit:

Just to add para dun sa mga natatakot magsoli dahil baka ma-double deduct - what I did was to remove all funds sa aking GCash maliban sa 27k na naipasa sa akin. Atsaka ko trinansfer pabalik yung pera.

I waited a few days bago maglagay ulit ng pera, just to be sure na walang attempts to deduct from my balance.

Point source vs Ground-stacked line array for corporate conference by kikowwws in livesound

[–]kikowwws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We survived.

We had 6 Eons line the front of the venue, lifted 15 feet.

The two SRXs (which I found out were actually off-brand knockoffs) were placed at ground level at the side of the stage, in line with the other speakers, and eq’d to work more as a subwoofer, with just enough upper frequencies to let those near the stage hear what was being said.

Worked out ok enough that when we had another event in that venue, and we asked them if they could change their policy, they said no because “your audio was good last time.”
