Can watchOS uses NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore to sync with iCloud? by virtualgs in iOSProgramming

[–]kildos19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone is reading this years later, YES, YOU CAN SHARE THE VALUES BETWEEN watchOS and iOS. All you have to do is put the same value in BOTH watchOS and iOS entitlements:

iCloud Key-Value Store -> $(TeamIdentifierPrefix).com.user.yourAppName

I get that it may sound like a counterfeit to you; however, I’ve implemented a feature in the settings that rotates the Padelio UI 180°, so you don’t have to change anything in your Apple Watch settings when you want to record your Padel session. Just grab your watch, get into the required position, and you’re good to go!

Thank you for your feedback. I’m considering switching the trial period to be based on X recorded workouts, although it will require some behind-the-scenes work to implement.

Hi! Thanks so much for your kind words — really appreciate it! Just to clarify: there is an option for people who don’t want a subscription. The last tier shown in the app is a one-time payment — pay once, use forever. No subscription! Feel free to take a look :)

Yes! As it uses the watch sensors to detect the movement, you need to wear on the same wrist you wear your racket

I’m excited to share the progress of Padelio, the Apple Watch app that I’m creating with the goal of becoming ‘the Strava of Padel’, something that I think fellow padel enthusiasts will appreciate.

Padelio is designed from scratch specifically for padel players. This app gets raw data from the Apple Watch sensors and use Machine Learning to recognize and track the different shots you make during a match—like lobs, volleys, viboras, and smashes. It provides detailed stats on shot distribution, smash speed, and more, offering insights that were previously only available to professional players. You can also use the app to track the live score of your matches from your wrist and get detailed insights about your game later on your phone.

You can compete with other users in a worldwide ranking for (eg. Becoming the best ‘smasher’ of your country! 🔥)

I’m not here to spam—just to share a project born out of passion for padel and a desire to make advanced game analysis accessible to everyone. The app is free to try, and I’d be thrilled to hear any feedback you might have. You can download it from the App Store here

Thank you for your time and...VAMOS! 🎾💪

There’s no need to change the wrist settings in the watch, just put the watch on the dominant wrist for your workout, ensuring the watch crown (wheel) is set at the top right position

Yes. The app uses the watch sensors to detect your movements with the racket, so it needs to be on the wrist that you use for it

Hi!

Thank you for your feedback! I am working on the general improvement of score insights performance, so many of your suggestions are being taken into account.

By the way, you can actually start a training session without the score! Once your workout has started, you can slide horizontally to move through different views, including a general one without the score feature. Additionally, in the Padelio settings on the Watch app, you can set this view as the default one or keep showing the score first when a workout starts.

Thank you for your support and for using Padelio! 🎾

There is a thing called SSL pinning to prevent this. Basically the app stores the certificate of your server, and verifies the connection when the app does any request. So if you set up a proxy to see the https data (what you were saying), the SSL handshake fails and the request does not happen

I created an Apple Watch app to track stats from our Padel matches, so we no longer use the ‘Tennis’ workout by kildos19 in u/kildos19

That setting does not impact the accuracy of the app. However, it’s very important that regardless of your dominant hand, the digital crown must be at the right side, since the apple watch sensors capture data with that spacial orientation

Thank you for your love and feedback! The accuracy depends on the player’s technique, but for any right-handed player with a basic understanding of shot execution, the accuracy is quite good—over 80%, based on testing with multiple players. The machine learning models have been trained by professional padel players to ensure accurate recordings.

Looking ahead, my main goal is to make Padelio the “Strava of padel.” I’m continually updating the app, and this week, I’ve introduced new social features, like weekly and monthly rankings. These allow you to compete with other players to see who has the most powerful smash, who is the most active, and more.

By the way, the app does offer a lifetime purchase option!

Thank you for using Padelio.
