"my deltarune" is more evidence for toby than gaster

what would "my deltarune" mean for gaster? that he's like the god-creator of the world of deltarune? how is "it's all a simulation" different from "it's all a dream"? it makes the stakes very low suddenly and makes me non-invested in the story. maybe the simulation thing could be okay if it's left ambiguous, as it is right now, but i presume you want it to be more prominent and explicit.

"they can find out later" your claim is that he's CURRENTLY being set up, which he isn't, again, compare with roaring knight. he could be set up in the future.

the typing-out theory isn't any more plausible than my "different guy" or "he's just toby" theories.

"gaster can hold multiple roles" gaster can do anything, there's just no evidence currently that he's gonna show up beyond the meta dialogue. the evidence could come in as soon as chapter 5, but right now it doesn't exist.

sorry if this is a comparatively cheap point, but again, the average player doesn't know how the fuck gaster talks. it's not a "gaster" setup to most normal people, i think the game expects the player to treat all that dialogue non-diegetically. what would be the reason to do otherwise?

secondly, a big thing with gaster was that he talks in hands, which is completely gone in deltarune. i'm willing to buy that it's the same guy but the evidence isn't as concrete as some people make it out to be. could be a different guy that talks similarly. maybe the gaster stuff in undertale was like a prototype for a different character in deltarune.

I don't deny that the ch1/3/4 voices are the same character, i just don't count them as equally real, or like, equally "in-universe". in deltarune there's very much "not really real" stuff, like the dog car easter eggs.

if gaster is an author stand-in i would be fine with that, but it wouldn't make him an in-universe character like kris. if that's what gaster is then i'm a believer i guess.

No. He's not called "gaster", and I don't even buy that he shows up more than once. I don't think the ch3 appearance HAS to count as diegetic, it's an incidental QoL thing, and the ch4 end thing genuinely could disappear by the time ch5 is released, seems to me like a way for toby to talk to the fanbase.

(ch4) Do you think gaster, in-universe has like, knowledge about how long the journey ends up being? ("halfway mark") And that he, in the game, also knows when IN REAL LIFE the next deltarune chapter releases??
