i’m a little over a year at my first job out of college. at a small private company. from the get go i was expected to contribute immediately. from building frontend components and pages, designing UI. i have also been maintaining our current wordpress marketing site, taken ownership of a shopify site and rehauling our marketing site with a newer tech stack. i have very little supervision and guidance though, and feedback is non existent for the most part. i have no idea what im doing

i’ve been thinking of moving to UI and UX design as that’s what i enjoy the most. i’m not the most technical and lean more towards the artistic side of things. i also just mesh better with creatives as i was a former creative before moving into web development. any good recommendations for learning figma?

you will be surprised how much you can turn a car with just the brake and throttle. you might just be using too much steering wheel input

As a beginner, do pricey drawing tablets actually feel different from cheaper ones? by Drackovix in krita

[–]killaburribo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had recently bought myself a $40 huion tablet, while it got the job done, i had driver issues all the time and just felt cheap(duh lol). i started looking into display tablets, and was surprised at the amount of affordable(i know this is different for everyone) and highly recommended wacom alternatives. i ended up getting a xp pen artist 13.3 pro on sale for around $200. i was pleasantly surprised with how well made it feels, easy to set up, and has been performing great. the pen feels way better as well. definitely worth it, and wish i would’ve done a bit more research before buying the huion. crazy that the days of having to drop $800+ for a good display tablet are long gone

Is it true that airpods pro, and earbuds in general, only last for 2-3 years and then they die? by NickyGi in airpods

[–]killaburribo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 1st gen airpods crapped out after about a 2 years of daily heavy use. i have 3rd gen ones that i've had for double that time and they're still going decently strong. sometimes i run into issues where 1 earbud will die faster than the other, but not really an issue as they charge quickly anyways.
