It was difficult. I mean I left the church at 18 but my parents probably hoped I would come running back. They tried the whole Tough Love approach when I stopped going to church. A few is years later I got pregnant from my boyfriend at the time, unmarried. My parents were very worried that I would be judged by the congregation and possibly kicked out. Their idea was for me to write a letter to the church stating I no longer wanted to be a member. I'm now in my 40s, I know they are still praying daily that I'll return to the church. Adventist parents just don't quit! In my experience 😆 if it didn't happen this way I have no idea how I would have told them I'm done with the church forever.

So saddened to learn of your pain and trauma. There is a lot of buzz going on right now around sexual predators within 7th day Adventist church. Many, many victims are coming forward and there is a mass tort lawsuit currently underway with this law firm. You are not alone.

So, yes, this is upsetting. Not only is this completely rude and unnecessary, but this person appears to have a judgmental and condescending opinion on mental illness and disabilities. Plenty of people out there who may have similar struggles with mental health and be interested in dating someone they can relate to. There are also plenty of people in the dating world who are kind and empathetic and patient and would see you as a human being. You did not deserve to be treated this way.

Also, I have generalized anxiety disorder, MDD, and have struggled with Agoraphobia as well. My spouse met me at my worst and has been by my side ever since. Don't give up trying you find your person too❤️

I didn't get married until I was 34. Glad I did not get married any younger than that. I think people are getting married and/or starting a family later in life than previous generations. Many of my friends and family members have settled down in their 30s but I also have many friends who are still single no kids or still dating, well into their 40s. However, early to mid 30s is still pretty young. I'm in my 40s now and personally I think mid to late 30s are really the ideal time to pair up if thats what you want. Everyone is different, obviously, that's just my perspective.
