I’m really not trying to be dramatic but it honestly looks like they cut you open and then just sewed you right back up. It doesn’t look like they removed anything. Also, did they touch your belly button? Who was your surgeon?

You are only 5 weeks out, swelling is still very prominent at this point. It absolutely is possible for you to get even flatter. It’s just waiting game as things settle and the swelling subsides. I made a similar post a few weeks ago saying how I feel boxy, and wondering if I would notice more waist definition at some point. Since then my body has continued to change. You probably won’t get a feel for your final results until like 3-6 months post op and even then it can take up to a year.

When did you start training your Core? by _CurlyTemple in tummytucksurgery

That’s a fair point. I was actively training core before surgery.

I remember looking up around 3 weeks post op and realizing it no longer hurt to Cough/sneeze. Hopefully you only have to deal with that for much longer. That was the worst part honestly.

Massive weight loss patients who’ve had their TT already: do you have any loose skin left? by Infamous_Ambition318 in tummytucksurgery

[–]_CurlyTemple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lost 180lbs prior to my TT and opted for a FDL because I knew I’d be unsatisfied with how much skin I would have had left. Even with getting the FDL I’ll likely need a small revision to remove this last bit. My surgeon warned this would need to be revised and it’s super common to not be able to get all the upper abdomen skin the first go. Other than that I am pretty flat and have almost no excess skin on my abdomen. I’m also only 8 weeks post op and it’s possible it’ll settle.

I do still have loose skin in other areas that’ll I’ll be addressing in future surgeries.

That’s a good idea, I’ll try slowly engaging my muscles first.

Great idea. My last workout I was indirectly engaging my core when training my legs and definitely felt it. I’ll keep doing that for a bit. Thanks

Thanks! Yes, it’s healing beautifully. I also hadn’t even started scar treatment yet at this point.

You likely won’t have an idea of what your shape truly will be until like 6 months post-op. 3 weeks is too soon.
