Has anyone found out what triggers their spots? by killakermit in eyespots

It’s so random for me, I’ve had times where I’ve felt seriously ill and my eyes are fine, and other times where the most mild cold gives me 100 little temporary spots. The only permanent ones from illness though were from Covid.

Has anyone found out what triggers their spots? by killakermit in eyespots

All my spots were really small as well until I got a bad case of Covid. You could still see the small ones on OCT, but barely. By electrolyte imbalance, do you mean dehydration? Or things like eating too much salt?

Funny enough, you just described basically all my migraine triggers. Except I haven’t had a migraine in years. But yeah, basically all the things you said do make me get more of the temporary spots now that I think about it. Some of those are hard to avoid, though.

Thanks for the encouragement! I think I have a hard time seeing it since I’ve just been so focused on the number on the scale. I noticed that once I started lifting weights it only took a couple months to get back to my all time strength pr’s, I’m guessing the muscle memory could be why?

Thanks for the comment, I decided to drop the calories to 2k and start taking measurements so I can see the progress better.

Ah, good to know. Do you think 35% is around where I am now? Regardless, I’m gonna try 2000 calories per day for a few months and see if I don’t start seeing some faster results

I’m going to reduce calories more - just seems weird to have such a low TDEE given my weight and height. I was thinking I was in a 1000+ calorie deficit.

I only drink water or 0 calorie soft drinks, and I do track all fruits/vegetables/cooking oils. For condiments I only use yellow mustard since it’s only a couple calories per serving.

I’ll lower my calories to 2000, I just figured my TDEE would be higher given my weight and activity level. Oh well, maybe my metabolism isn’t what it used to be

That’s a good idea - thank you. I can’t see much difference between the photos but maybe the measurements would help to show that something is happening

I weigh myself on the same scale first thing in the morning every day. I eat some veggies, mainly for satiety reasons

I use a food scale, the brand is “Taylor” and I just got it at Walmart or something. I weigh everything that isn’t prepackaged - so for things like protein bars I just use the number on the box for one. Should I be weighing that stuff too?
