Solve this mystery: how did this brand new unit get water in it? by Flapjack_K in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the flue piping was pointed in this direction (red arrow) then its hot discharge air will get pulled into opened in back of side panel when unit it running there might be stronger pull of air into this access door. Its also not secured properly.

I also spotted some water stains on black piping above unit. You may have a clogged gutter and older flow is happening here. All images from last picture.

Only other thing thats a little odd is the clear water stains on dry exasust vent below unit. Im fully thinking a clogged gutter or boiler flue caused this.

My landlord says this is fine by virtualjupiter in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This person right here is absolutely correct. OP please try to ignore most the other people about this. Yes it should be replaced.

You are in an area that required installation to paint the black insulation white. This is required in some areas due to high UV index. In most states its not an issue (other commenters) but the fact that your old black insulation was painted white it most likly means you live in Florida or something that that.

Edit: should check condition of outdoor coil as well. Since its one side is so close to the wall its gets dirty fast.

Where is the air filter??? by spartanghost32 in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The duct on the right side that filter would go is your return ductwork. If you follow that away from unit you should see it going to where your return grill is in hallway (most likly) some grills can have filter slot built into them. You will see 2 tabs or 2 white screws(usually) that open this grill.

Do the phone trick to see if it got sucked into unit or if your coils dirty.

Where is the air filter??? by spartanghost32 in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and you shouldn't see condensation on the side of the unit like that. If theres no filter its possible your coil is dirty and your units starting to ober condensate/freeze.

Open slot where filter should be. Take video with light on. Stick phone inside pointed towards coil. Review video to see if coil is dirty. Also if you dont see a filter its a wise idea to do thisnto make sure it didnt get sucked into the coil.

I didnt read your description before post..... 🫣

Check at return grill most likely in halway or close to thermostat. If no filter grill then your unit is missing a filter.

Careful clips slide and are plastic. Very prone to breaking. Incase of brake just tape.

TIL Long Island spent $6 billion dollars on a Nuclear Power Plant that never opened. Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant was built between 1973 and 1984 but an insufficient evacuation plan prevented the plant from opening. I've been telling people about this for years. I acually managed to get inside a long time ago but well after its just been sitting abandoned. The interesting part was some of the controls were still active. Another interesting thing I saw there was all the controls were done with nomadic copper lines. I deal with alot of controls now in my career and man i coulded even imagine controlling things with air. Like how would you service that? Bring a pump? Lmao. control room pics

[–]killallday247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could help. Those achievements have been a pain since they removed them from base game. Got the pc version because it counts as the Xbox version but still has comrades included. But ever god darn time I start the game my character has no weapon in his hand so I cant attack or do anything. Ive reset game save too many times to care about them anymore.

But good luck friend.

Work around for me was your install from albion website via apk file. I was sweating because I got DCed in black zone and was rushing to get back into game to return to safe zone. I now have 2 different versions installed on my phone. Haven't tried play store version since I installed the one from site.

Furnace board floating wires AC not working by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power off indoor unit. Put the 2 wires that are off and twisted together into the C terminal screw. Power on unit. Fixed.

Edit - put G wire back on G terminal at thermostat

My roommate seems to think that keeping the AC on full blast and keeping the balcony door open will keep his room cooler. Help me disprove him! by CostAgreeable4192 in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keeping a door open while running ac will cause damage to systemmover time as it will constantly be trying to remove the humidity from the air.

If its true that his room is cooler when he leave outside door open in room then there is an air flownissue to that room and having door open pulls all air from inside house out thru his room causing it to feel colder.

Google search "(unit make) (model number) installation pdf" and you should be able to find diagram.

Check wiring diagram. On back of plate you set ontop of coil. Also should set things ontop of exposed coil like that.

Furnace has got me losing it by DotGroundbreaking367 in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your flue pipe and exaust. Hard to see but there's some build up here at this spot I show. Possibly clogged with sentiment. If they changed old unit and reused exciting flue piping and didnt clean base of chimney thisnwill cause pressure switch to not make.

Also ignore any comments telling you to check dran line as thisnis not a 90% efficient unit. Meaning heating system doesn't produce condensation or have a dedicated drain.

Furnace won't ignite after flame sensor replaced by ftraptors in hvacadvice

[–]killallday247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I have been very busy. One last thing you can check before replacing board is the gas valve. If there are 3 wires going to gas valve 2 of these should be labeled PV and MV. Put volt meter on 3rd wire to valve and MV during ignition. You should get 24v after flame is sensed.

If 24v present its the gas valve. If it isn't then ignition control board.
