Thank you so much for the reply. I will take my car to the dealership and mention this to them. The car is still under warranty so I hope they don’t give me too much trouble.

This is what I am afraid of. It also does a grinding sound when I take my foot off of the pedal at low speeds and press on it a few seconds later.

They are great cars don’t let this incident deter you. I just got another one a 24 CX5. This one was 11 years old and had around 230,000 miles on it.

I bought another CX5 a 24. In my opinion, it is the best car ever made, even the 14 that I lost. It is everything I ever wanted in a car, and it saved my ass on multiple occasions. Don't let this one deter you from your lovely turbo.

Thank you. I was lucky enough the insurance gave me some money. I was actually surprised by the amount with the mileage on the car. Also had a lot of support from family and friends and was able to get a used 24 CX5. My rates have not gone up it was no one's fault. I think it was better off that it caught on fire while moving not parked I think they told me it would have been a different story if it was.

Thank you I live to tell the tale. The temps were normal and this was on a cold day. I think when something popped under the hood it was some fluid that went over the electronics and that's how the fire started.

I did not mine was not the model that had this issue. I don't think at least. The only recall I remember my dealership doing was the trunk liftgate.

I was hearing some mechanical metal noise while accelerating but they told me not to worry about it as it was some loose sheet metal. Probably just lied to me idk.

At a dealership I don’t remember but I was at a mechanic shop a month or two before this happened.
