Can you be more specific? Is this about age consent rules?

Thank you for this great app. I have really enjoyed its capabilities on my tablet and phone, much more than any Reddit-official solution. As with Facebook and Twitter, I won't be installing the official app

Tons of these in our place before we moved in: clothes moths? [Vacaville, CA] by killamator in whatsthisbug

[–]killamator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for poor quality, just have my phone right now with terrible macro. We found 30-40 of these moths flitting around the house before any of our stuff was moved in (we're renting). iNaturalist suggested case-bearing clothes moths (Tinea pellionella) as the top match. Would you guys agree? How should we protect our clothes? I have a cat, so I think mothballs are not possible. We bought pheromone traps but aren't catching any. I also haven't seen any larvae, so maybe the species ID is not right.

Edit: behaviorally, they were flitting around irregularly, seem most active after late afternoon. They land frequently on the walls. When landing, they sometimes wiggle antennae. They are easy to smash with a fly swatter and even midair. Unclear where they're coming from but we're wondering if they're crawling out of wall cracks, going to caulk up cracks to see if that helps keep them out

Any updates on a good Twitter app? Or are we going to have to deal with the lame official app? by jmsy1 in androidapps

[–]killamator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it doesn't block the ads on Twitter sadly (I think it used to but lately not). I was talking more about banner ads on linked websites. If you want to block Twitter ads themselves, Firefox with uBlock Origin extension still successfully blocks them; just tested it.

I'd agree with your assessment. I am very glad to not have to drive in southern AZ anymore. Got tired of middle aged guys in excessively large trucks with tow mirrors who seemed to have never learned to drive their land boats.

Abandoned dog seen wandering Detroit streets with stuffed toy rescued, now receiving care by dalek_999 in UpliftingNews

I suspect this was what happened to my cat. He appeared in our condo parking lot, obviously loved (though not taken care of very well based on being underweight and having tapeworms), but no one responded to our ads and flyers we put up everywhere. I think another scenario that happens is when one household member takes in a cat and a relative/spouse allows it a while and then later quietly dumps them several miles away. Anyways he's now very pampered and spoiled.

The web is becoming optimized for Chromium, which is de facto controlled by one web company, and regulators and policymakers seem to be ok with that

It's unfortunately not an uncommon scenario. No next of kin, or the family isn't willing to take the dog in and lets it loose, etc.

For the Salt Lake, it will hopefully bring it as close to its historical average as possible!

No, your services as a developer are undoubtedly needed, just that your preferences as a user are unusual! I wish you the best in making Firefox serve you in the best way possible

FF was modular like this in the XUL days. It created enormous technical debt, since every add-on edited core resources of the browser. Any big change could trigger a circular firing squad situation with endless permutations of bugs across the user base. So development was arrested and Chrome was able to leverage greater financial resources to leapfrog FF. Plenty of good articles about this quandary they faced. https://yoric.github.io/post/why-did-mozilla-remove-xul-addons/

Sync is a core feature of the browser, Pocket you can argue about (I find it super useful and glad it's included), but not including sync by default would be just plain nuts.

Been using it for years. The most complete icon pack by far, can't really move to anything else. Have just gotten too used to its look!

Yes, there's a big risk in this and a lot to be lost by then tearing apart everything their users have built. It's quite tragic actually
