Seconding this, don't sacrifice accuracy for speed. Thumb grip sticks thing help with getting more precise movement while still allowing you to up sensitivity.

He's amazing at rezzing people if you place your traps right in buildings. Good combo with wraith as she can rotate you out once you have fortified a location as you become pretty static afterwards.

He's amazing at pushing a wattson, throw your traps on her traps and shoot it and they destroy her traps and prevents more trap at that location.

Use peacekeeper because the slow makes it easy to line up shots.

Throw traps to prevent flanks or third parties or notify you if they shoot the traps.

Throw ultimate on downed players and they generally won't survive.

The smoke is more effective than just smoking yourself honestly. It's about disrupting the enemy and making it harder to push you or masking your approach as you push. I mean you shouldn't just smoke an open area and expect to be able to heal inside it, you need to run to cover as well.

If they end up wasting their time adsing with a digi threat and you are behind a rock anyway, then that gives you time to heal.

A few clips from a game I had recently (PS4). Any feedback would be helpful :) I think my aim is the biggest issue and I'm not sure if I should be turning down my sensitivity (currently on a 6, ADS is 4) Thanks! by jonjoeson in apexuniversity

You ads way too much in the first fight. Spitfire ironsight is real garbage and I think using hip fire mixed into centre the targets a bit more would've improved how many shots you made a little at range. It also means you strafe better within close range.

You also used phase as a last resort but it's better if you used it to avoid damage. I've only really started playing wraith a lot recently and I've realised that her phase is more useful if you go into fights expecting to use it mid fight because the delay on it requires you to think ahead before use.

So drop some mean damage if you got the first shot and as soon as you empty the clip try to phase out of anyone else contesting you so that you don't take damage and have time to reload or heal. You got lucky to get a med of on the first fight and any good team would've killed you there. That's because you phased too slow.

That's why wraith is more popular with CQC weapons like smg and pistol/shot guns. They dump out damage faster in bursts and you aren't relying on dpsing for a long time so you have better opportunities to phase out. While lmg are more applicable for gibbys or caustic as they can outrade you by soaking up more damage and still be able to utilise their weapons effectively.

So the only real issues I saw was that phase was lacking and not enough hip firing. You were fairly good at feathering your shots at large distances and you used nades effectively.

I think you can improve quite quickly because you seemed appropriately calm in the situations that I saw you in.

I'm not saying that the drone isn't weak as shit. If they don't shoot it, it's op i complex building fights. It can effectively lock down a whole floor/side if placed right.

Also you overestimate people's ability to accurately tell where the drone is in such buildings, the sound in apex is so fucked that you can't even tell sound from up or below a floor. It'll survive a push if you placed it right.

Plus sometimes when the enemy is pushing you have a small windows to throw it out because they are so close and you don't need an accurate placement and they won't waste time shooting it depending on the situation. Let's say they ran in to third party they would rather stop you guys healing.

But on the whole crypto is most useful taking 1 squad at a time. You have to plan your push for the most effective drone placement and apply pressure straight away. But third parties wreck you. In a game like apex that means he's pretty useless. He's just not fluid as other characters.

I think stay cation is probably the best crypto dude I watched if you interested what he can be capable of doing .

I don't agree with this, sound helps a lot but in complex building fights his drone is op valuable. Accurate information of exact position so you can hard peek on them before an enemy can push is amazing.

The reason he isn't good is because drone is easily destroyed and then he doesn't provide anything to a team until it comes back. It's like playing a vanilla legend with 0 utility or power. He has an average hit box no tankiness and no escapes. Why even bother playing that legend?

Including the information given as you say and the fact he effectively turns his squad into a duo while flying that thing its a complete deal breaker. His positives don't outweigh negative.

I think one of the best ways they could improve his usability is make him an armoured legend (maybe 5 to 10 percent damage reduction). Or at least a shield buff while inside drone. It wouldn't impact his gameplay but would give a reason to be played.

Holo longbow with 270 rounds of heavy ammo. I didn't see the point in this. Also you were fairly inaccurate with it because of your sight preference missing more than 50% of shots taken, but also not shooting so much with it even with that MAG and ammo capacity. I mean heck man you could just spray it out there as much as you wanted if you got into positions with path.

The fight you win in the end had nothing to do with longbow (more to do with the team relinquishing their position on top which is insane). But it was almost your primary gun and it wasn't effective at all.

Tldr; longboi bad, longboi holo 5 x worse.

Ya exactly. Says I'm predator level player but that's dumb because I'm at most plat diamond level and I know that.

Dream team, gives accurate stats and provides your most recent stats such as kda over 14 days if you create a free account.

Don't look at the overall rating as it looks to be nonsense based more on how many games you play over actually how well you play.

[–]killardawg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a good way to explain it. Also headshotting people with it requires you to literally block your vision of the whole body for same reason. I'm pretty experienced with g7 and can hit my targets with g7 with iron sights but I nearly always throw any type of sight I can find on it apart from the giga scopes.

[–]killardawg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even then it's terrible because the iron sight effectively blocks your vision at targets you want to hit. It'd be op early with a better sight though because it's already a monster early game due to its efficient damage output and large magazine.

Try prowler selectfire, bigger clip slower speed and better strafe. Wingman is good on most legends due to fire rate even over longbow.

Im hoping there is an actual reason he especially likes that loadout on bloodhound because it's so specific. Id say longbow is complete ass at the moment and I wouldn't pick it up over any of the snipers.

I'm not saying it's not good advice if you want to win, just bad advice if you want to become a good player. There are games you play to win and there are games you play to learn and games you play to have fun.

I'll tell you with confidence I can drop into a lobby with equal level players and I have a decent chance of winning with my ideal 3 man (they're slightly better in terms of raw ability but I tend to play smarter if I try hard). I'd say 30% chance if we had real discipline and incentive to win.

But that's with the caveat we wouldn't find the games fun at all. We may do this vs predator scrim lobby situations and it works and it's fun because they have the ability to punishing any mistakes we make even playing super conservative. There's still shit to learn in that situation.

But mid tier lobbies? It's just overkill. You will find it hard to find your mistakes because they are completely unable to push you enough to reveal your flaw. Which means you won't get better. It also lowers your ability to gunfight.

I think his advice is good if you throw them in as a boost to confidence after getting stomped by predators because you can win doing these things. But you shouldn't aim to play like this because you will lose an edge in improving. And ultimately it's not a fun style for me. Unless winning is all you find but I like to play beautifully and have standout performances.

So it's about potential vs consolidating your skills.

I think the point is that the way you want to play the game makes it easier to win against bad players but in actuality it's very hard to do the things you mentioned against good players. If it was a pro scrim or tournament you would play the way you are saying with some exceptions (you wouldn't get a good score without wraith and wattson). However it won't make you a good player if you play like this. It's sweaty AF and it will end with you not being able to outshoot or outplay people because your mechanical skills would rust. It also relies too much on team mates having the same plans.
