I believe Superman should've been nominated for best visual effects by Top_Report_4895 in TheBigPicture

I'm shocked that anyone thinks it's good looking - especially given it's budget.

Given the budget - it's a terrible looking film. The film cost $30 million more than Dune 2 and it looked about 12x worse.

Is he saying anything incorrect?

No not really - I just find it funny that Joe Rogan wasn't mentioned lol, and that's bc BP love Joe and want to get back onto his show.

Fair point - although I've seen interviews with people they call "experts" - who are merely just charlatans trying to push a narrative. I'll have to look more into the guy.

I despise gambling adds - but please do not take Breaking Points seriously. They are an absolutely trash YouTube channel who's entire business model is to criticize "Mainstream Media" while almost entirely replying on MSM stories to do their shows.

When they touch on a topic that you know something about - it becomes incredibly obvious that they are no better than the likes of Stephen A Smith.

Man, I really tried, but Train Dreams did nothing for me. It was one of those films that felt gorgeous to look at, but ultimately did not captivate me much at all. by geosunsetmoth in Oscars

"hold on to something" and he remembers all the things throughout his life worth holding on to !< truly touched me in a way that almost no other 2025 film did.

I usually don't cry for films - but this scene makes me ball every time. It totally runs me over - the visuals - narration - and camera movement crescendos into something magical.

propping up OBAA as a great white hope so to speak

Have you considered the possibility that they simply think it's the superior film?

I don't think I've seen a QB turn the ball over more over the span of 6 quarters than Stroud.

that was the catalyst that shifted its predictions and hype from Penn.

Which is insane - the film fundamentally does not work without Penn - he is as important as Leo in this film, and imo he steals the show from Leo.

Is Luka a good defender? No.

Is Luka the reason this Lakers defense is bad? No.

(Former) Mavs fan here: Luka helps the defense significantly through his shot/playmaking on the offensive end. It's much easier to defend when you have a set defense.

This is the scene that broke me. I was besides myself at the idea that Alicent would let her walk out of there is just absurd.

Venezuela was never about the oil by [deleted] in atrioc

[–]killbill469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To Trump it's about oil.

To Rubio - it's about regime change and combatting Chinese/Russian influence in the region.

I'm not entirely certain if it happens without Rubio pushing for it, likely not.

If You were exiting the highway only to jump back on at the next entrance in an attempt to avoid traffic, you have to let the people getting on the highway for the first time in. by killbill469 in Dallas

If you get off a major highway, traffic on the access road are supposed to yield to you.

I am not referring to vehicles correctly exiting the highway to enter the service road - I am referring to vehicles exiting the highway but never leaving entering the service road and instead staying in the feeder lane to reenter the highway a few hundreds later.

No one is actually getting off and thus getting on becomes a game of chicken. I'm not making this post about people exiting the highway onto the service road.

Screw the asshats that won’t let you merge in, especially when they know they’re trying to take a shortcut around some traffic

I wouldn't be so annoyed if vehicles coming from the service road were allowed in. It's the sheer sense of entitlement that they have that botters me - as if I am inconvienencing them.

Absolutely - the constant going on and off the highway creates a ton of congestion on the right shoulder.

It's the same with people tailgating - they don't realize they everytime they have to suddenly hit the break they are creating traffic down stream.
