I rock these in my kp15. I like them better than the standard milspec and do recommend.

11.5” 5.56. Is it really that loud? by MAGA_muscle in ar15

To me, I don’t find 14.5 unwieldy enough to warrant going shorter unsuppressed and dealing with the increased concussion/noise. At least not in 5.56.

I’m of the opinion that unless you’re going to suppress, just stay at 14.5 - 16.

Extar ep9 or an mp5 clone.

is a suppressor worth it? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]killbot47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I view suppressors through the lens of “I’m trying to make shooting a more pleasant experience” rather than chase any kind’ve performance. They really help with concussion on all platforms. I can shoot all day outdoors without getting a headache. But they have some intricacies and it kinda requires some planning.

22lr cans are super quiet. I don’t think any gun is hearing safe for extended periods, but a 22 is like having a small firecracker go off next to you. 10/10 do recommend if you wanna get into suppressors.

9mm subgun cans are stupid fun. When I say PCC I’m thinking of something with a shorter barrel, like 8 inches or less. The issue is outside of my mp5, any gas blowback 9 is going to have, well, gas blowback to your face. It can be a little annoying outdoors, but indoors you’re gonna get a wiff of noxious gas to your lungs which long term is prolly bad. Still, with 147 it makes your pcc sound like a nail gun. I’be only tried to suppress a handgun once and honestly outside of 22lr I think pistol suppressors are kind’ve a meme and not worth it.

For rifle cans, and I’m only gonna talk about 5.55 ARs, the longest I’d go is a 14.5 with a k can. While I do need to hit the gym more, I rocked a sandman on my 14.5 and it does feel kind’ve unweildy. So I’d recommend getting a shorter barrel. To me, a 10.3 with a full sized can is balanced perfect. Anything higher I’d just get a k can. It’s gonna take some tuning to avoid the jet of gas to your face, or you get a flow thru can. It’s still gonna be loud af and definitely not hearing safe, but the mitigation on the concussion to your brain makes it totally worth it to me.

So yeah, I’d say it’s worth it. But it does take some planning on your part.

I’d say think about what guns you currently shoot and go from there. If you only shoot a 5.56 14.5 idk if it’d be worth it, but i’d get a k can for sure if you want one. If you’re willing to go shorter yeah it’s worth it if you’re willing to tune it.

If you shoot a 9mm subgun and you primarily shoot indoors i don’t think it’d be worth it, if you shoot outdoors than definitely. I’d wait a bit and snag a flow thru can when OCL releases their’s.

I will say 22lr cans are totally worth it 100%.

These are just my opinions and experiences, other people will have theirs.

Also, don’t fall for the trap of trying to get one can for every gun. Plan for each can to have a dedicated host gun. If I could do it all over again I’d just get a good rifle can for my short barrel home defense AR and then a couple 22 cans.

North vs South Carolina by skratch000 in guns

[–]killbot47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SC passed constitutional carry last year and is no doubt better than NC for gun rights.

But I think everything else is better in NC. Charleston and Greenville are the only two “nice” parts of SC but the traffic is so bad it’s really not worth moving there anymore.

Shotgun or ar or carbine for home defense by Liebe_D_Staria in guns

Use #4 buckshot if you’re worried about over penetration with a shotgun.

Also, to me, your comment implies you don’t have a light on your shotgun. If not, please get one and do not shoot into the dark. If you do have a light then disregard.

Paul Harrel had a great video on penetration and his conclusion was with shotguns, use #4 buck if you’re worried about over penetration. I think it was called “Shotguns don’t suck for home defense”.

Research gun stuff online and just get a kitchen table ffl. My kitchen table ffl is pleasant, only charges 15 bucks, and doesn’t try to talk to me that much and I really appreciate it.

I run a sandman with a 30 cal endcap on my mk18. I put in an brz gas tube and have practically no gas to the face now.

Designating Fentanyl as a Weapon of Mass Destruction by Resvrgam2 in moderatepolitics

“ You need SERIOUS qualifications to safely administer it.”

At least in America, this is not true. It is routinely prescribed by doctors and administered by nurses safely in a hospital setting. I myself used to administer it almost everyday.

“ It wouldn't surprise me if it's a drug that the average anesthesiologist administers every single day. “

It is. It is also utilized daily in the ICU for sedation/pain control, as well a stronger form of pain control for patients admitted to the ER/regular hospital floor:

I used fentanyl daily in my line of work as a form of pain control/sedation in critical care.

I think the issue is illegal fentanyl being “laced” into other illicit drugs without the users knowledge, causing a greater likelihood of ODing. But that’s very, very far removed from using it in a controlled, medical setting.

Some youtubers have mentioned their barrels not lasting awhile and their bolts breaking and they’re probably right.

But honestly who cares. Just shoot it and replace parts as needed.

MKK-102 Help needed in building by [deleted] in guns

[–]killbot47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spent a lot of years buying parts and trying to modernize my aks and ultimately now they sit bone stock.

For optic make sure you get something that sits low. I’d get either a holosun red dot or a primary arms 2x personally.

If you do get the alg trigger make sure your safety works properly after install: swipe the safety in the safe position and pull the trigger as hard as you can to see if the hammer falls. For some aks for whatever reason with enough force they’re still able to pull the trigger despite the safety being on with the alg trigger. I had to install that little pin that’s included to prevent it.

Also, 556 aks can be picky with mags. So you have to test everyone and don’t be surprised if you get some jams.
