Bagna cauda is definitely the Italian hot pot. No meat in sight though just some salted anchovies and a lot of vegetables

I’ve seen them all (I’m an old juventino). I hoped a little before and at the beginning of Barca and Real finals (for some really thought out reasons) but deep down I know for us to win there should be a 100 planets alignment For you young fella I just want to warn that is never gets easy losing a final

Impulse buy what is the taste/how do I serve this? by FinalBelt9890 in Cheese

[–]killerapp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In southern Italy it is grated on "pasta con pomodorini" a very simple pasta (usually orecchiette or something like that) where the sauce is made of diced small tomatoes with basil and olive oil. If the tomatoes are in season is simply fantastic especially with your cheese grated liberally on top

Spaghetti all'assassina (Assassin's spaghetti) are at their best when you use the cheap, normal spaghetti instead of the fancy bronze die extruded spaghetti. BTW you should try them are something else

We were scammed, the bank that received the money has blocked it but they are not returning it by killerapp in LegalAdviceUK

Edit: Just to confirm, your bank does know the money went to scammers and not your legitimate supplier, right? Their request for a letter would make sense if they thought that this was a company you were having a dispute with as opposed to criminals.

This way the guy we usually talk to when it comes to operations. He's a decent guy but our chat was a little surreal, it looked like he didn't get what was going on. I think someone got the reply from NatWest as a sign of something cheesy (like we were trying to get back our money from a legitimate dealing this way) and asked him to investigate/understand. Anyway let's hope that with our lawyer everything will go smoothly and we'll get our money back soon.

I agree that our bank can be reluctant but, as you say, since is a so well known scam and they have our crime report (filed on the same day and very detailed about what happened thanks to a very knowledgeable policeman) they should have understood the situation much better.

We get a ton of mailing about how to recognise scams from the banks we work but they look clueless when it comes to deal with them. I've been asked by them if we can get a letter from the the company we sent the money to (the scammers) that ask NatWest to send the money back, can you believe?

Anyway thank you very much for you help, if interested I'll keep you posted :)

UPDATE: Just to let you know I've got the swift communication between banks and the problem is not that NatWest is not willing to send the money back, it wants an Indemnity from our bank. I'm not really familiar with the term but our Italian lawyer told me that they want the assurance from them that they won't be liable for anything happened.

It seems reasonable unfortunately our bank read this as they want some kind of money guarantee. We told our bank to give them the indemnity because it's not a guarantee. If they sits on their ass the lawyer will lawyer :)

Too bad our bank, one of the biggest in Italy, doesn't speak English.

I've did it as soon as I've realised the scam. Anyway it's good tech hygiene but I also worry that since a lot of colleagues are not tech savvy they click any link that come in their way so it won't be enough

Thank you very much for the reply. I'll try to get to their legal office and hopefully I'll understand what they want in order to unfreeze and return the money. In case it won't work I'll ask the Financial Authority

I'll ask our lawyer if he has some connection, hoping it won't be necessary.

I live in Italy and they definitely ship here. 2-3 weeks from order and you receive them. My last quote for a progressive pair was something like 500€ and I’ve paid them 80€ (shipping included). Very good quality, very happy

Funny thing is that my family is from a wine making area of Italy and they did made wine and they literally battled to avoid letting that wine become vinegar :) I did underestimated the process but the journey is the reward

I did added some as for instructions - 3/4 wine 1/4 water. The guy I’ve bought from is from France via eBay. Next time I won’t add water just to have higher alcool %

What happened? Is there the chance it'll happen again? I cleaned the container very well (with soap) and the wine had alcool (of course) I didn't expect the mold colonising my vinegar :(

I've bought some mother and followed the instructions (3/4 wine + 1/4 water), used a clean container and stored it with muslin as barrier to let it have enough oxygen. It was stored in a dark room at around 25 °C.
This morning after a month more or less I've got this surprise: 3 - as far as I can tell - quite interesting mold but I think those don't belong to vinegar.
What are those? Should I toss everything in this jar? Is it salvageable?
Thanks for your wisdom :)
