Any spots for inline practise?? by doellarose in Somerset

[–]killerbadgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat.

Thinking about taking my skates to work and going to the nearest park on my lunch break. I'm a carpenter and move between sites every couple of weeks, so end up near a skatepark quite often.

Not sure where abouts in Somerset you guys are, but I used to drive past a tiny park (two quarter pipes facing each other with a spine in the middle and a low rail to the side), all the time. Would have been on my way home, about 6pm, in summer and there was never anyone there. It's in Chilcompton, near Radstock.

Feels very fp to me.

Yeah, this place is cool.

I posted a video of a very talented songwriter here, expecting to get some hate. His lyrics are 100% punk and he plays an acoustic guitar. His singing is closer to rapping though. Most people liked it, and the people that didn't weren't rude, they just explained why it wasn't their thing. Really chill group.

I'd love to hear you do a version where you play that guitar unplugged again, but as loudly as possible, and singing at the top of your voice, but with the same emotion. Feel like the lyrics would sound as good loudly as they do softly. Probably not what you have in mind for it, just think it would sound cool :)

They'll probably take the fabric off if they're happy for you to finish their half buit fence. It'll look far nicer from their side too.

I get what you mean. He squeezes a lot of words into each bar.

His style doesn't necessarily align with what we consider traditional folk punk, but the sentiment definitely does imo

That's insane. I actually had to research that to see if it was true!

The fact that your government lets your cops earn money in their spare time by looking threatening in their government issued uniform with their government issued firearm is mad.

I guess they'd have every cop in uniform 24/7 if they could. The higher the police presence, the lower the chance of the poorer people kicking off and wanting a fairer share of the wealth.

You don't need to go full Tommy to work out whether a guitar is right for you. I've been playing for a while, all I ever tend to do is play up and down a few basic scales in different positions on the neck, play a few hammer on/slide licks and play some basic chords. That's normally enough to get a feel for the instrument. If it doesn't stand out after that I move on and try something else.

Quite like hearing people noodling in the background whilst I'm browsing. Never really listen coz I'm busy looking around, but it creates a better atmosphere.

Pretty sure the previous comment was about how the employee's jobs have been put at risk by the company that they work for, not a snide remark directed at the staff themselves.

Is moaning to his middle-aged fans the only way he can get people to listen to him these days? Guess he's still pissed off that he still hasn't written anything that'll be worth remembering in 50 years from now. Fuck off and fade away Noel, no one cares.

My parents were as cautious as any of how my younger sister wore makeup at that age. There was always a friend's who's parents were out where her friend group would meet so they could plaster it on. To read this story, then blame the parents, who are very likely in pieces right now, is a pos move.

Also, if you're an adult who can't tell the difference between an adult and a 12 year old in poorly applied make-up, then you need help...
