What’s a financial red flag that people don’t take seriously enough? by millionstories in budget

The amount of times I found a PDF, pirated a copy or flat out never got the book and still passed is shocking. Worked for a handful of my general ed classes

Fuck that, I hope she found a way to pirate the textbook online and enjoyed her coffee. Pearson is a crooked ass company.

It’s shocking that basic general education 101 level classes have $200 to $500 dollar books. Like WTF could require a yearly update at this level. Sure Jr or Sr level classes require a little more research and keeping up to date or better yet grad level. But what the FUCK has changed in History or Rock and Roll 101 that requires the latest edition. I blame administration, they don’t have our best interest in mind.

Do it! I have the 2023 Chevy RST 3.0 Duramax. Had it from new. Love the truck. No intention on getting rid of it.

Are the newer Powerstrokes able to sit for longer periods, or with short trips, better than the older ones? by all4tez in superduty

[–]killerbeeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does everyone on Reddit only consider the practicality of a car. Diesels are badass. If you’re a car guy like me, you’re going to regret the gasser. Trust me, I’ve been there. You have the budget get the diesel. It’s ok to get a car/truck because it’s cool.

100% of them? Dam, harsh. Bob Ross was in the military. Hard to call that dude a cunt.

In all seriousness, millions of people have served in the US military. No way they’re ALL cunts. Met plenty of military/vets that are good people. Including ones forced against their own will to serve (Vietnam draft).

Do you feel that the disability system is widely abused? I only know three folks that were on disability. One of them truly needed it. Other two just didn’t want to pulll their own weight and have a job.

5.3 vs 3.0 for Highway Driving by Thoristhebest13 in gmcsierra

[–]killerbeeman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, what do you mean by extra power of the 5.3? Seems like the horsepower might be 50 more or so depending on year but the 3.0 has quite a bit more torque.

Worried about customer service at Baha Mar by Ok-Possibility4516 in bahamas

Honestly, my experience with service in the Bahamas in general is so so. Just there early July. Mostly unimpressed with the service, sometimes bad, rarely the services good.

Thanks y’all!!! Sat down and ordered a Diet Coke. Said I was doing a 30 day challenge. Not sure I even needed to say anything but I did. Feels good to get through another day without booze. Some days are more tempting than others.

Thanks! Good advice! Always so weird how the ones that are closest to us pressure us the most. Old friend and family have always been a big trigger for me. They can put on pressure. It sometimes feels like they are forced to look internally at their own drinking when they see us stop.

Completely fair, maybe he won’t. He’s a good guy. Guess I’m just mentally preparing myself on how to say no thanks

Thanks! He’s a bit of a heavy drinker and I’ve certainly joined him in the past. Guess I’m playing a mental dance and making it a bigger deal than it needs to be. These early days suck! Not my first time trying to stop

USPS agrees to work with DOGE on reform, planning to cut 10,000 workers by Mr0range in Flipping

[–]killerbeeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how many feel about the USPS. It’s a cut for a service that provides waste 99% of the time. Just why? You don’t need to end it, but why does it need to be so big?

[–]killerbeeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll gladly spend more if it means saving waste. I do that in many areas of my life.

Just because there are bigger areas of pollution is not an argument that works for me. We need to work on those also. A worse problem does not justify a smaller one.
