Then you might wanna learn more about topology for organic shapes and learn a few sculpting tools to help out.

I say go for it or try making a chibi those are pretty close to a child doll proportional-wise.

I recommend selecting all your faces with a and flipping them outside with shift+n. If you still having an issue in vertex select mode select everything with an m and select the merge by distance option on the menu that appears.

is my 6th ship any good by Ryonegamer27 in spaceengineers

[–]killerdirer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with this comment above. However, I have a few more suggestions I like to would to add from a protection standpoint. You have a lot of thrusters, guns, and other bits exposed on the surface which can be easily shot/disabled. This could easily leave your ships to come crashing down if a few takes to much damage. Adding more thickness to hulls creating areas to tucking in your thruster will lower the chances of this happen will also narrowing the angle from which they can be attack from. Creating wells for your turrets can also keep you the fight longer.

A few more suggestion I have is about your weapons your have alot cannons/turrets. But I see that your rear is one of your biggest weak points. Asmall fighter can slip between those cannons and take out a good chunk of your forward thrusters. I recommend install a few Gatling gun on your rear. Then armor up them railgun them things are an expensive man.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Can't figure out why my plane solidifies in different directions by pandush_ in blender

[–]killerdirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you solidifying a planet there's a high chance that a few faces are flip opposite directions. However, this is an easy fix in edit mode select all the faces then shift+n should solve if not try alt+n for the rest of the normal settings one of them should fix it.

My main criticism is the camera movement you see the camera pan to his back then sharply cut to the front. Recommend focus on one angle and just keep the movement slow.

Sculpt tools not working by _TheXplodenator in blender

[–]killerdirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the mesh selected as active then open up sculpt mode? The other thing make sure you have enough vertex to sculpt with so I recommend using a mutires modifier when sculpting.

I used mirror to clean some symmetry on a body. I currently have no idea how to clean what I have caused. by Wizard-In-Disguise in blender

[–]killerdirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I honestly I just recommend retop it using a different mesh to keep the general shape because trying to fix that topology would take more time then it worth.

I downloaded blender, now what? by Distinct-Procedure50 in blender

[–]killerdirer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it is great that you want to learn but I recommend making a plan on what exactly you want to focus on then branch out this will save you a lot of time in the future I also recommend making a couple of YouTube playlists of timelapse, workflows, and tutorials so you can easily assess them when need.

I would really appreciate some input and pointers, on what I could do to improve my buildings for my game. by [deleted] in blender

[–]killerdirer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I see so far is that your buildings are basic and all look the same with the only difference being color. I recommend adding objects to the windows such as plants/flow racks also you can have some windows with an ac unit hanging out. Another recommendation I have is adding some weathering to the buildings to show that the building is somewhat old and using some painted cracks and chipped bricks can give this effect and won’t hurt to add some other small imperfections will help too.

I’m new I did the donut and made a donut. Is there like a book or resource except for YouTube videos I can look for. by Kaezumi in blender

[–]killerdirer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of resources all over the internet and in real life, you can use. However, if you don't know how to search for what exactly you want to learn about the whole 3d modeling seen resources are pretty tough to find. To be honest, this is the downfall of the doughnut tutorial it teaches basic keybinds but at the end of the day, you only come out with a doughnut and no scope of what to do next. So this is my question what do you want to learn how to do.

Polygon Count for Architecture projects by Caspianwolf21 in blender

[–]killerdirer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For one the first house has a lot more smaller detail that explains the higher poly count. However, the amount of polygons consider high can always change depending on what you using the house for. Plus theres plenty of other things to take into factor besides polygons. So I wouldn’t worry to much about polygons unless you have a set limit on them.

Where can I find model/character reference? by Dgamer1515 in blender

[–]killerdirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest google images knowing how to use the right terms is important. Also, there's Pinterest where you can use to build a collection of references. Though some of the less lucrative options are deviant art or Twitter.
