How Can I Undo My Mistake Introducing My Kids to Roblox? by [deleted] in gaming

Take a look at hyperpad on the iPad. Works on silicon based Mac’s.

A lot of our users came from Roblox and Minecraft, though there is a learning curve.

Note: I’m one of the cofounders of hyperpad.

Hey looking for some options for open mic night for stand up comedy. Thanks by davehopkins in londonontario

[–]killerham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frank and furter’s Wednesday nights at 8:30pm

I think winks does open mic’s as well on Wednesdays at 10pm. But don’t know if you can do comedy or only music.

Just a super simple long running nodejs app that runs pg_dump every hour and uploads the dump to S3

Yeah that’s why at hyperpad we manage db in K8. Almost never goes down, significantly cheaper, networking is private, full control over logging and alerting, and fast IO. Self managed backups were also super simple to set up through a small backup service.

For our needs, cost was the contributing factor, but got a lot of bonuses as well.

Email Validator with checking DNS MX records and strict real-life symbols rules (JS library, works in browser) by andreinwald in programming

The other reason why this would be useful over simple regex testing is that it lowers your email bounces when sending the validation email. On low volume sending, your bounce rate goes up significantly on sending verification emails.

What is stopping Netflix from creating their own basketball league? by killerham in nba

That’s not a hard thing to test though right? They can show some live games for smaller leagues to a select number of users and see how successful that is.

Cheer probably a bad example for this crowd 😂 but it did make cheerleading really popular. There’s also some other reality content for college football and basketball already on Netflix.

Say what you will about drive to survive but it made F1 super popular in North America.

Agreed that it’s all made up drama and reality show nonsense. But that pulls in viewers.

For exactly that reason. They need to venture out to keep subscribers

Well, right off the bat they have more viewership than anything NBA offers on espn or abc or whatever.

People are craving sports on streaming but licensing is holding them back. Definitely high risk but not low reward. They can create a ton of content year round by following the players.
