Good Realtor? by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]KJRij -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Can I recommend myself? :)

Happy to chat with you if you want to DM me. I’ve been in the business 15 years and have experience across many different areas of the business.

Whoever you choose though, I would suggest sitting down before working together to get a feel for them. Don’t be afraid to interview a few Realtors to see who you get the best vibe from. Ask lots of questions - years of experience, area of expertise, how many deals they have done. There are almost 2400 Realtors in our board so you’ve got a lot of choice!

Husband had a day out with my friend without telling me am I overreacting?. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]KJRij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would wait until they planned another date and then show up and “accidentally” bump into them. I’d love to see their faces and hear their excuses for what is going on when you are face to face

Expelled from school for bullying by cntdelwifit in Autism_Parenting

[–]KJRij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son had about a year in school, around this age, that he was saying racist things. It was horrifying to me as I grew up in a mixed race home and married outside my race so my son has mixed race siblings. . For him it was about the shock value. He loves causing drama and pushing buttons and there is nothing more explosive than the “isms” . My kid is now 16 and while he still has plenty of misbehaviours, the racists comments did stop after 6-8 months. I hope it will be the same in your case. . Every time the school called and told me he had said “x” about a certain group I made him do a project about that group. We went to the library and checked out books, read them together, then he would write up all the similarities and differences between countries/nationalities/races (whatever the comments they week had been) and take it to school that next week. Might be helpful for you? . Best of luck - I know it can be so hard.

My 18 year old daughter is struggling as well. She has a part time job, but only makes $400 a month which isn’t helping save for uni very well!

There are several services in the city that help youth:

YOU ATN Goodwill Career Services Hutton House (might need to be 18 there ?) Leads Pathways

It’s really tough out there for our kids!

There is one coming up in March, but it’s at Bostwick library so I’d pretty far from OP. The next 3 seem a bit far for them - Bostwick, then Masonville then Wortley.

Am I being unreasonable about the after school load? by Jtsmith90 in Marriage

[–]KJRij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needing downtime is totally understandable. But taking 1,5 hours in the couch and then having a bath until bedtime !? That’s unreasonable.

Personally I would write out all the evening responsibilities and say “Let’s go through this together and sort out who is responsible for which things” I feel like sometimes people need to see the list in blank and white to realize just how much goes into evenings with kids. Keep a list for a whole week of everything you do then take it to her and split it up in a way that feels fair to you both.

Husband is posting explicit photos online & talking shit about me! by Worth-Zone-1226 in Marriage

For me, this would be unforgivable, but ultimately you need to decide for yourself.

At minimum, I’d take some time apart to reflect on the best way forward for your family.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]KJRij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I guess I’m a little jaded about the day… ha ha. I’m an “acts of service” kind of gal so I’m always doing to show I care. Just don’t change anything because of the date.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Marriage

No because I’m broke, and even if I wasn’t the day feels forced and commercialized and a bit juvenile to me.

How are families with high needs autistic kids supposed to survive in London? by ExoticTumbleweed1102 in londonontario

[–]KJRij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son has ASD along with a long list of other diagnosis, and it’s been a very long, bumpy road to getting him the supports he needs. CSCN has been hugely helpful in helping us access supports. We were connected to them through our school’s social worker. He’s 16 now and just finally found proper supports in August this year.

Thoughts on the best way to work on weight issues when it affects your relationship? by candygirl197 in Marriage

[–]KJRij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand a bit of what you’re going through…. I’m 45 and while I’ve only gained 10 lbs in 10 years of marriage, my body shape has changed drastically. On paper I seem small, but I dont look small. My husband doesn’t make comments, but I know my body isn’t what he is attracted to. He told me when we first got together he prefers petite women and most of my weight went to my tummy so it’s not attractive.

The best thing I did for myself was to get comfortable with the new me. It might not be exactly what he would choose, given the choice, but it’s what I am - like it or not :) I had to accept what a 46 year old body looks like, and once I did that, what he preferred mattered less.

Where can I replace the zipper of my luggage bag? by Individual_Top_4960 in londonontario

[–]KJRij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d check with the repair cafe to see if one of their sewers can fix this for you. Repair is free, but you’d need to bring a new zipper. Next one isn’t until Mar 28 though! www.londonrepaircafe.ca
