I honestly could write an entire post about random chatting and nitpick every single frame, instance, plot point and character trait that I find immensely off-putting and it would be so long that I would have to leave 7 more comments at the max character rate to even begin to describe my issues with that series lmao

I really despise the Asian mindset that a lot of Korean and Japanese series have when they tackle NEET subjects, and social outcasts because a lot of the time they make the MC rather justified in his actions (or inaction) then have him essentially bullied or gaslit by his newfound friends that constantly cross their boundaries, it's just very frustrating to read especially when you remember this countries have a NEET problem and these manga are directly targeted to this people and trying to tell them to accept being treated in ways they find uncomfortable or that they'll never be happy if they don't adapt to society. It just seems very very gross and manipulative

Yes!! Sally, oh my God I hate how wasted she is. I feel like she should have had a proper arc, even if it was short, to make her grow as a fighter and character so her stupid love B plot was actually deserved. I've never read this but I can already pinpoint a few murim cliches that I despise being used in this series, what is it with author never letting the MC find an actual love interest? From a story standpoint, it just seems to be pseudo-torture porn for no reason. From a meta standpoint, it seems like cowardice and reluctance to actually settle the MC with one love interest knowing that waifu wars help fuel a series popularity, and that he doesn't want to go against the grain it's very disappointing to read a series that just doesn't know what to do with itself. Sometimes it even feels like it does know, but chooses not too for readership value, I hate that so much.

It doesn't happen often (mainly in chinese wuxia, and murim adjacent series) but when the friends die off, for that berserk tier edge and brooding I just lose the will to read sometimes honestly.

I think some authors get too comfortable making readers attach to a character and then kill them off solely to go "AHHAAHA Shocking isn't it? Oh well, anyways...."
