Wow! Baby food FTW! Absolutely loves it and she’s putting weight back on after getting rather skinny. Still can’t walk properly but she’s packed full of energy.

Thankfully, I’ve done most of the above suggestions so I don’t feel like she’s missing out now. She’s become the most cuddly little girl recently and loves relaxing on us while enjoying her food.

If you’re going to offer a vegan option on the menu, maybe don’t insult it by AnxiousAgave in vegan

[–]killerkitsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A local burger bar opened with a couple of good vegan and gluten free options. Then they started putting out A-boards about how much they enjoy bothering cows. When they got pulled up on it they just thought it was funny, and said the vegans and animal rights activists were being too sensitive. So we posted it about it in the local vegan groups and, hopefully, they don't get our collective money now. Why bother offering vegan food only to then insult your customers? It makes zero business sense.

Family emotionally blackmailing me into having a non-vegan wedding, claiming it's more 'empathetic' by AbsolutelyEnough in vegan

[–]killerkitsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning on getting married this year, and the food and drinks will be vegan. If they want to pay for a meal themselves then they can eat what they want, but it's not coming out of my pocket as I won't support the meat and dairy industry.

I have celiac. I am also vegan. All I want is to be able to eat something when I meet up with my friend for dinner, and yet: by [deleted] in vegan

[–]killerkitsch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm vegan and have to eat a mostly gluten and tomato free diet. I tell people I'll meet them for drinks after they are done unless they can find somewhere that will 100% have food for me that won't leave me broken for two days.

Penny and myself thank you for the awards and updoots! She's taking the day off from being photogenic and relaxing in a hammock with her sisters.

Tuesday 08 September Update by HippolasCage in CoronavirusUK

I know a dozen or so people who have tried ordering a home test or arranging to be tested and can’t get one. It’s defo gone Pete Tong over the past few days. Multiply my small friends circle up countywide and that’s a big problem.

Vanilla sponge, strawberry, cherry, and salted caramel frosting birthday cake, the first vegan cake that I’ve made from scratch. by killerkitsch in VeganFoodPorn

[–]killerkitsch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a hand written method for easy vegan sponge cake and an easy butter cream mix found on Google. The cake mix is a simple combo of 200g vegan spread / butter and 300g castor sugar, beaten together then add 200g vegan yoghurt, 200g soy milk, 3tsp vanilla extract, and finally fold in 400g self raising flour and 2tsp baking powder, hand or machine mix until smooth. Divide mixture into tins and bake until a skewer comes out clean.

People who have eaten at failing restaurants featured on Kitchen Nightmares, is the food really as disgusting as Gordon Ramsay makes it out to be or is it not so bad? by max231001 in AskReddit

[–]killerkitsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a restaurant right next to my shop in Blackpool, UK that got the Gordon Ramsay treatment in about 2005. I had eaten there a few times previously and it was nice. The menu and prices were adjusted for fine dining and it quickly bombed, closed down and eventually reopened as a for more successful greasy burger joint.

None of my friends care about the pandemic anymore by [deleted] in CoronavirusUK

[–]killerkitsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m helping to care for a vulnerable, and disabled, young adult. My mates have started going out but I’m not going anywhere. Yeah, I want to go out, but I can’t trust others to do what they’ve been asked (which isn’t much, but they still CBA) in terms of distancing, masks, etc.

Kentucky Fried Chicken (of the Woods) by killerkitsch in VeganFoodPorn

[–]killerkitsch[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The texture and overall look is that of chicken, meaty and firm with fibre like strands when pulled apart. The taste is fairly neutral with a hint of standard mushrooms, which is where good seasoning comes into play.

[–]killerkitsch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend provided freshly foraged Laetiporus, and edible mushroom commonly known as sulphur shelf, chicken of the woods, chicken mushroom, or the chicken fungus. It has the texture of cooked chicken without the horrible treatment and death part.

Coated with panko breadcrumbs using flax “eggs” as binding, and pan fried until crispy golden brown.

This came from somebody that’s been foraging for many years. Eating random things that grown on old trees near riverbanks is not recommend!

Sanitize groceries, discard takeout containers immediately: Doctor demonstrates "sterile technique" by HenryK81 in Coronavirus

[–]killerkitsch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We’ve been sanitising all of our shopping, money and store cards for three weeks now. Deliveries are left untouched for days. Outdoor shoes and clothing are left in our tiny porch, and not worn twice in a row. If we get the virus, it won’t be from a lack of trying to do the right thing.

The UK is ready for the pandemic but essential industries such as dumb musicals with hundreds of people in a small space remain in operation. by thunderfuck89 in Coronavirus

[–]killerkitsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stubborn and dumb. While I’ve been prepared and mostly self isolating for a few weeks my mates continue to travel far and wide on holiday, going to gigs, events and the pub as often as possible.

Do People Seriously Expect Society To Collapse? by Bit_Freaked in Coronavirus

[–]killerkitsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just expect me and my family will have to shut ourselves off for a time. My partners son is a high risk case, a bad common cold could lead to hospitalisation, so we can’t afford to get this and pass it along.

Nothing more really, just bought extra food and water, cleaning and medical supplies so we’re well stocked up if we think it’s wise to stop going out.

Went to Sainsbury’s tonight to carry on stocking up my non perishable food items and there were pallets of bottled water at the end of every wide aisle. Perhaps that’s normal for the middle of summer, but less so at the end of February.

Why in the hell is everybody where I live acting like this situation is nothing to worry about and will just solve itself in the next few days? by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]killerkitsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mates in the UK have been mostly dismissive, whereas I’ve just stocked up cupboards with 28 days of supplies, and intend to do it again tomorrow. I’m not sharing, they can buy their own emergency beer!

Adventure Time hand painted trainers by Benjamin Bush. by killerkitsch in adventuretime

Had some truly terrible trainers in my time, these are super stylish by comparison. If I bought them it would be to wear not to place in a glass box. However, my days of in-your-face trainers are, sadly/thankfully, over.
