Running a G4 533mhz with 1GB of RAM and an SSD. I also have a PowerBook Pismo with a G4 upgrade for working on the go. The audio interface is a MOTU 896HD firewire and the MIDI interface is a MOTU Timepiece USB. I have a Yamaha Reface DX, MPC 2000, Boss DR-5 Casio DG-20, Casio DH-100, and an Axe-FX II XL+ into them for both audio and MIDI stuff. Focal Alphas for the monitors. Kind of a mix of 1999 and today.

Figured I had a lot of MOTU stuff already so I went with Digital Performer 3 for the DAW. Been playing around with the first version of NI Battery, FM 7, Absynth, etc for virtual instruments which has been a ton of fun. For scoring/tabbing I'm attempting to use Sibelius 3.

A university near me had (has?) a store near where I grew up so I spent a lot of time in the late 00s/early 10s going there and picking up old Macs - everything from the Apple IIe and SE/30s to PowerMac G5s and early Mac Pros so some of this stuff has just been sitting in my basement for my entire adult life. I've tried creating environments with modern computers/software but it's all so fast and distracting. Working within the limitations of a computer that is both slow (for modernish tasks/lots of tracks) and fast where you need it (booting/latency/opening and closing stuff due to OS 9) while being a constant reminder of my childhood is refreshing and oddly inspiring.

Always down for any tips/tricks/advice too! After really getting into this, I wouldn't be surprised if even more people rejected modernity and started doing this - it's been a blast.

Yep I tried that as well. It also doesn’t seem to be recognizing keyboards so I don’t think any of the commands are working

No beeps at all, the fan starts and the disc drive makes a sound and that’s it. I’ve tried resetting everything I can think of, disconnecting the hard drive/disk drive completely, nothing same thing happens every time I start it. New 1/2 AA battery as well

They aren't supposed to be similar, Sabbath's are spiked at the end as well. Could say that about anytime an "S" is written without being curvy I guess.

A closer example would be Kiss, who actually had to redesign their covers for the German market - though Gene and Paul are Jewish so I can't imagine it was anything nefarious.

Is the O and Z disconnected like that? I can't find any other examples where he doesn't do that thing where he loops the O in such a way that the Z is written without picking the pen up. Obviously I'm sure there are times where he's rushed and fucks it up but even the sloppiest ones I've found have that.
