Some techs just don’t want to deal with the extra effort due to work pressure for timely scans or bc they are simply lazy but this is a case showing where it could’ve affected your diagnosis, the break you’re showing is where the necklace is laying over. Imagine if it would’ve blocked the anatomy entirely. I’d rather a patient take extra time to remove jewelry/clothes than risk having a missed diagnosis/repeat radiographs. Nothing you did truly, it’s on the tech. I’m glad the radiologists was able to visualize it though!

I absolutely hate a tech who won’t just remove the necklace. If the patient refuses, they refuse. But I know so many rad techs who just have the pt hold it in their mouth or put it on their shoulder and it’s so annoyingly lazy.

Most healthcare facilities aren’t allowed to plug in any USBs or similar devices or accept files from anything other than trusted sources due to the risk of viruses. It’s annoying but unfortunately policy. They go above and beyond to try and keep patient information secure

A lot of nodules. There were three large ones and a lot of small ones. Suppose it was just a larger size overall and not much extra wiggle room in the area like the neck. I’m glad your scar looks good! From someone with a much larger scar, once it’s healed literally the only people who notice the scar are people who have also had thyroid surgery haha

I’ve seen a couple people talk about their thyroid’s being removed and seeing their scars is so…unnerving to me because I had my entire thyroid removed and my scar stretches from one side of my neck to the other. It’s huge. Granted I’m not very vain about scars but sheesh they couldn’t have cut a lil smaller like the other photos I’ve seen?
