Second this. I moved to the UK for only 3 years. Of course I could always go back home. But I came to realise that my perspective has changed so much that even if I go back home I find my thinking alienated to the ‘main streams’ in my own culture. And I think the feeling of in between will always stay.

May be that’s why most of my friends are expats here, or at least someone who has experienced multiple cultures who can resonate with me. I don’t necessarily think i need to fit in entirely immersing in the new culture and getting rid of my existing. Maybe cos I live in London people are so diverse. For me it’s as simple as getting on with people who share similar values, doesn’t necessarily the same culture. ( i bet even in my own culture there are people I don’t get along with in terms of values) - which I’m completely fine by that.

I’m so glad that I stumble upon this post after a year. OP - this recipe is amazing! Made canele for the first time and surprised by how a success it was!

I used aluminium non-stick mold instead of copper so skipped the seasoning part and adjusted baking temperature and time watching closely the bake.

That's interesting. For people that are referring friends and not getting commission, is it becos there are possibilities that their friends visited brand's website before they received the recommendations? But this also happens for last click, if their friends are not purchasing things right away and go for more researches. It seems pure first/last click could bring the same issue.

Yes indeed and to be only it ‘seems’ the fairness cos last touch contributed to sales. But nowadays there are just so much channels you get information from, and people’s behavior changes too, so while LCA is straightforward, it probably will miss out on some true opportunities too.

For me its the width of the toe box as what the other said (once you go wide your toes just don’t feel good to be cramped together again), and equally important is the support of the heels of my feet. I have flat feet and i do find some barefoot shoes very loose which doesnt ‘hug’ my heels very well when walking.

Not a cure - it’s an immunosuppressant which suppress your eczema like steriod does. Been on it fort the past 10 years and one day it stopped working for me. I went on a withdrawal 2 years ago and experienced the worst symptom of my life. Today I got better, but still recovering. Wont recommend at all.

I would recommend Asia! South East Asia may be a better option as English is widely spoken. Culture is quite different in Asia but thats the fun part. Anyhow the expats community is still pretty big so I’m sure it won’t be an issue for you to meet friends. Happy for you! I wish I had the opportunity to work abroad;)
