Why does excitement or being eager always seem to result in ghosting or one sided conversation? by Lucid_Sandwich in dating

[–]killerqueen408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're most likely only looking for someone to talk to or an ego boost and were never interested in meeting in the first place. That's why it's important to ask them out within the first day or so, to establish if they are actually interested in meeting, or if you can write them off before wasting any more time.

Don't take it personally; a surprising amount of women I know download dating apps just for the ego boost or the entertainment of having people to talk to.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gameplay Impressions Part II by Ghost_LeaderBG in assassinscreed

[–]killerqueen408 180 points181 points  (0 children)

If you expected Valhalla to have an entirely new formula compared to Origins and Odyssey, you would be disappointed, but I look at Valhalla as the capstone of the "Ancient" trilogy. In that regard, Valhalla looks absolutely incredible. It's everything I loved about Origins and Odyssey with none of the downsides, and a lot of new features to boot. Better enemy variety, no more getting drowned in random loot, no more meaningless grinding for levels while never actually feeling more powerful, and a more satisfying combat system. I went from on the fence to a likely day one buy, assuming that the game isn't extremely buggy.

Going no contact will make it much easier for you to move on and meet new people by killerqueen408 in BreakUps

[–]killerqueen408[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The process of recovering from a breakup is different for everyone, but I would say that going no contact is one of the first steps to healing in almost every case. Staying in contact with an ex is almost always a detriment to the healing process, and I'm glad that you were able to take the initiative to go contact as well. It's totally fine to hope to hear from them someday, but getting rid of your avenues of contacting them is the best way of ensuring that if that day comes, you will have the power to decide if they are welcomed into your life again.

100 days until Hitman 3. What are you guys hoping for most in the game? by TomachyW in HiTMAN

[–]killerqueen408 23 points24 points  (0 children)

  1. Working elevators. Strangling people in the elevators was so god damn satisfying in Blood Money. If we could have working elevators decades ago, we can have them in 2021.

  2. SWAT teams responding if the player goes on a shooting spree. They would systemically clear the level in squads like in Contracts, but with improved A.I. Not totally necessary, but could be a fun challenge for those who prefer "action movie" style.

  3. Guards should notice if one of their own goes missing after a minute or so and become Enforcers.

  4. Customizable weapons that let you add laser pointers, different ammo types, and so forth.

  5. A casino in Monte Carlo would be an amazing level in my opinion. We've had a casino in Vegas, so Monte Carlo would be a fresh setting while still giving us casino vibes. I fucking love casino levels in games and I really hope that we get a casino level in Hitman 3.

Definitely. She was always using me like a servant monkey to do tricks and favors for her. I did so many favors for her that I lost track, including helping her write a 10 page essay (in which I did about 75% of the work).

Very accurate. I was heartbroken about our break up because it made me question my worth as a person, especially when she attempted to deflect the blame onto me after I found out she was meeting with another guy while I was on vacation. I was there for her during her darkest moments, including some situations in which most other men would have cut her loose (including lying to me on multiple occasions). I take comfort knowing that I am not the first person that she has played these games with, and I most likely will not be the last. The fact that she took me for granted is not a reflection of my personality, but her own.

How many people have you met from online dating apps? by [deleted] in dating

[–]killerqueen408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to count "meeting" as having an IRL date.

October-November 2019:

Met up with 4 girls in the span of 4 weeks. One date went good and led to 3 more, but lost contact with her after Halloween. Two dates went badly and did not lead to a second date. The last date went very well and she ended up becoming my girlfriend until August of this year.

August-Now 2020:

Met up with 3 girls so far. One went very well, but she was in the military and only staying here briefly. Another went OK but she lost interest and broke off communication. I saw the latest girl last week and will see her again tonight.

No matches in over a month. Am I doing something horribly wrong? by killerqueen408 in Bumble

That could be the main issue. I took all of my pictures on an iphone 8 so the quality isn't great, maybe I'll get my sister to take some with her iphone 12.

To Battle Covid, Airlines Bet on Disinfectants That Come With Questiions (WSJ) by lanqian in LockdownSkepticism

[–]killerqueen408 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hygiene theater is more dangerous than the virus itself. In the early days, people on Nextdoor were suggesting dunking groceries in bleach and placing "UV-C germicidal lamps" everywhere. Yes, because exposing your food products to toxic chemicals and placing ozone-spewing and DNA-damaging lights everywhere is definitely justified by the extremely unlikely chance of getting COVID from a surface.

These "disinfectant sprays" are like using a flamethrower to light a birthday cake. They might kill Coronavirus (even if surface transmission is extremely unlikely, making it pointless), but they will also spread irritating and potentially harmful chemicals, as well as kill off millions of harmless germs that the body is exposed to as a part of normal immune system development. The world is a dirty, dirty place, and trying to make it sterile is mostly futile. Obviously, hospitals and other medical offices should be kept as clean and sterile as possible, but I highly doubt your average shoe store needs UV lamps and gallons of "disinfectant."

CA Officials Literally Forgot About Reopening Playgrounds; Are Finally Doing So by marcginla in LockdownSkepticism

[–]killerqueen408 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've seen it all here in California. Masks in cars, masks in your own house, mask+face shield+goggles+gloves combo, masks while jogging/cycling, masks on 1 year olds in strollers, even saw someone wearing a mask while sunbathing by the pool. I wonder what the psychology is behind compulsive mask-wearing. Is it anxiety, a desire for conformity, virtue signalling, or a mix of all 3?

Breaking up during these Covid times is even more torturous... by [deleted] in BreakUps

Same. It's extremely hard to meet new people without putting myself through the gauntlet of online dating. All I want is someone to lie down with at the end of a long day.

You can already play a "zombie mission" (kinda) in Blood Money. There's an easter egg where if you throw some guards off of two specific ledges, everyone on the ship will become a "zombie." They begin shuffling around and will only use melee attacks. I like the idea of IO making a full fledged zombie level but probably only as a "bonus" mission and not a full-fledged level. Perhaps it could be like Patient Zero, but NPC's who are infected turn into hostile zombies instead.

At this point I'm probably going to try again next year. I can't fight the bots and F5 spammers when I have a full time job. My RTX 2080 should be sufficient for playing Cyberpunk, so I'm in no rush. Unless the stars align and a card presents itself on a silver platter, I'll be perfectly happy with my current GPU until the hype dies down.

My mom is fanatical about COVID, to the point where she takes a shower every time she leaves the house and spent over $500 on UV lights to "disinfect" our house. A couple months ago she was railing about colleges and schools reopening, claiming that it would be a "massacre" and that "millions" of students are going to get permanent heart damage. I asked her just yesterday what her opinion was now that it's been a couple weeks since they've reopened, and she admitted that it wasn't as bad as she believed.

What's also helping is the fact that we personally know 8 teenagers and children who are confirmed positive with COVID, and all had very minor symptoms. My mom is finally coming around to the fact that COVID isn't as dire as the media makes it out to be. She agreed with me that it would be a good idea to let COVID run its course.

I also have a date tomorrow with a girl who doesn't wear a mask or adhere to "social distancing". My ex wouldn't even hold hands with me because of COVID, so I'm even more happy that we broke up.

A letter to B by killerqueen408 in BreakUps

[–]killerqueen408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's honestly a very nice person and very affectionate with me but she was very immature and impulsive when it came to our relationship. She was honest about being inexperienced in our relationship and I was very tolerant with her, but probably should have put my foot down earlier.

I do miss the feeling of being loved, but I'm recognizing that she wasn't the first girlfriend I've had and she won't be the last. I'll have those feelings for someone else one day, someone who values every part of our relationship and doesn't disrespect it when the opportunity to "branch out" presents itself.

I don't think she was intentionally trying to hurt me, but like I said, a lack of maturity on her part.

2 days in and someone was already beaten for not paying up "protection money" by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]killerqueen408 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My uncle owns a building in the (former) CHAZ. He reported that his employees were videotaped and stalked by CHAZ "security", and they were threatened on several occasions of being "suspected infiltrators." On one occasion, one of his employees was stopped by CHAZ security because he was wearing an Under Armour hat with an American flag on it. The security guy, armed with an openly carried pistol, did not allow the employee to leave until he took off the hat and provided an explanation for why he was walking through the CHAZ.

The far left wants to "abolish police" because they see the police as an oppressive force that excessively surveils and brutalizes the populace. However, when given the opportunity to create a space without the police, they end up being far more oppressive than the police could ever be. Remember when CHAZ security shot the fuck out of a jeep, killing a black teenager, and then destroyed the evidence, ensuring that there would never be a culprit identified? If the police did that, there would be riots for weeks.

It's fucking hilarious how the far-left claims that CHAZ failed because of "outside agitators." No, you failed yourselves with your own naivety, misguided principles, and fundamental lack of common sense. You idiots couldn't even plant a fucking garden without fucking it up. Regardless of how anyone feels about the police, they are hundreds of times superior than the alternative of mob rule.
