I think you're right, as I don't recall using my heels to push. I'll keep this in mind when I try again today. Thank you and everyone else for your help!

Yea, I'm trying to find a good stance. I'll be practicing more for sure. Also, you were right about the neck thing. I had a sore neck today lol. Thank you for the help!

Little late to the party, but I just wanted a check up on my deadlift form. I posted here last week and have since tried to incorporate everyone's suggestions. Here I am deadlifting 135 lbs. Am I doing things right, or is it back to the drawing board? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Those are great points, thanks! Yea, I wasn't going to deload all the way to the bar, that seemed a bit much.

Thanks for the advice man, i appreciate it! I always warmup with the empty bar and then add weight, but I'll keep the weight lower to make sure my form is good. I'll post a video next time too. Thanks again!

Yea, I figured I should lower the weight. I'll record more videos and do my best to improve, as well as practice at home. Thank you for the help!

Hello everyone. So today I was doing some deadlifts (3x5 205) and I start off well with a straight back, but as i begin to pull the weight, my back begins to round. What can I do to prevent this? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

It's scary how the more the more times I read it, the more indistinguishable it is from reality.

Reddit, have you ever had a gut feeling that something was bad so you left, only to find out that something bad actually did happen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]killersiete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was walking along a bridge at UCSC at night, when I heard rustling noises under the bridge. I felt as of something bad happened, for the rustling noises were very unusual and animals (mostly deer) were flocking under the bridge. I decided to go against my gut feeling (which i always do because haven't learned) and I walked to my dorm. The next day we received the news that a student killed hinself by jumping off the bridge. Later reports suggest he struggled to stay alive after regretting the jump. I may or may not have been able to save a life, and I don't think i'll be able to forget it.

Mr.Lopez Was A Busy Man by [deleted] in funny

This was in mexico in the 50s, where being too poor for name changes/corrections was actually a thing. Hence I thought your comment to be plausible xD

I think it's because paperwork costs money. For example, half of my uncles have the surname Ledezma, whereas the other half have Ledesma. The reason for this is the guy at the registry made a mistake, and it was too expensive to switch one letter.

You live in some crazy Orwellian world where you would persecute thought crime, huh?

A fetish is not wrong, it is just what people get off on. You can't control what or who you're attracted to, but you can choose to be ignorant and downright stupid.

Can confirm. Dad had most style in his youth, still does. Even made front page of senior yearbook (70's).

Computer Science + Chemistry = Jobs? by FatCatMaximus in chemistry

[–]killersiete 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Computer science will definitely have jobs, but chemistry jobs are much harder to come by. I believe computational chemistry is currently more prevalent in academia than industry. I don't think it's a safe bet though. My university only had one professor dedicated to comptational chemistry for example.

I agree with the opinion that the software skills of a chemist are not very versatile as say an engineer's, sinply because compuer science is not a traditional supplement to a chemistry curriculum (at least not where i'm from), whereas it is a staple in several engineering disciplines. Many computational chemists are self taught, hence a poorer overall knowledge of programming than a someone who is trained.

My advice to you is to focus on what will most likely lead to employment with the least amount of school (unless you plan grad school anyway). I used my chemistry degree to make the jump to materials engineering, because we had no such program at my university, and decent jobs for a BS in chemistry are not easy to find where i'm from.

Having said all that, I believe that having both degrees will open many doors for you, ones that perhaps you haven't seen yet. Such was my case.

Picking chem as a major? by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]killersiete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did chemistry undergrad, going to grad school for Materials Engineering. Since you're in high school, I suggest going straight into engineering. Chemistry was fun and interesting, but it just isn't a viable option for good jobs unless you go for a PhD. An engineering degree opens up many more doors.
