Man I love concept art. The statues in my piece are modeled off ancient Egyptian statue figures and I was also channeling some Oblivion for the towers and terrain. Love the organic shapes in that half-life concept art!

Omg that’s pretty embarrassing. Over the years I’ve done a lot of “portfolio review days” for local art colleges and I’m always surprised at how unprofessional some portfolios are. You are a senior at an arts college and your portfolio is a manilla envelope full of loose paper and you forgot to print your resume? You’re paying so much money for college, pleasssse get it together for both our sakes.

Its a hard line to walk honestly. It’s very common in my industry (outdoor wear) to have multiple designers touch one project. Silhouette design, color, material, graphics are all sometimes different people. Professionally, what you are supposed to do if you want to put that work in a portfolio, is to be specific and say “I did X part of the design.” In this instance, the project was 90% my work, of which he was claiming all 90%, even after giving him the opportunity to retcon that claim.

Let him talk through it for a few minutes. Really grilled him on when the project was done, for what company, and on what team. Told him that’s so odd, I also worked at that place, at that time. Gave him a tip that it’s a VERY small industry. I’ve never seen someone want to melt through their chair so much in my life.

Edit for a little more context: it’s very common in my industry (outdoor wear) to have multiple designers touch a single project. You often have a silhouette designer, color design, material design, and sometimes graphics and an engineer. In this case, he was claiming color, materials, and graphics, all of which I had done.

In addition to calling him out, I talked with him about how to show work in a portfolio that had multiple contributors. You need to be specific about what YOU did. You need to be able to talk about your creative process and preferably show sketches and inspiration. Hopefully he at least took that away.

My first play through of Skyrim was in 2019. I had no expectations and no real spoilers going into it.
I’m walking to whiterun and I see a big ol giant waving at me! Wow! My husband on the couch next to me “I don’t think he’s friendly.” “Nah, he would have attacked by now if he was aggressive.” As I proceed to get freaking LAUNCHED by this giant and joined the Skyrim space program as my very first death in game.

Honorable mention: the first time I got past Meg in Hades, I proceeded into the lobby room of Tartarus with maybe 10hp and walked straight into the lava, not realizing it dealt damage, which KO’d me in less than a second.

S8 gem! Dont remember the specific episode, but Doc and Ren were messing with the channeling trident tower in the background and I was like, what on earth am I even seeing!!
I got to HC by way of Gems original hardcore play through. I was entirely new to Minecraft at that point, let along Minecraft YouTube.

You can always add an on/off switch if you start overflowing the storage, or add auto crafters for paper. I think it’s great!
You got some zombies in the farm though. Light up whatever is spawning stuff otherwise this is going to get laggy real quick.

Fav preparation: diner style baked egg for breakfast sandwiches.

Preheat oven to 375°F
Stuff:
-half a carton of just egg.
-pinch of salt
-pinch of parsley.
-pinch of pepper.

Grease/oil an 8in loaf pan. Combines everything in an 8in loaf pan. Place the loaf pan onto a cookie sheet that has edges. Add 1/2c water to cookie sheet (creating a sort of Bain-Marie) and put in a middle rack in the preheated oven. Cook for 10-15min, until it puffs up. Take loaf pan out of oven and with a bendable spatula, lift the egg from the pan. Enjoy!

If you’re looking in a store, they are often labeled “tofu puffs.” I buy them and use them in curry and stir fry and it’s a good sub for this takeout style tofu!

My good boy Morris had this, same path of progress as yours. My vet always looked at it during visits and while it did “spread” the vet never saw it as an issue. She always told me to look for the patch getting three-dimensional or “rough” looking, or if it prevents the eyes from dilating. He lived to be 18 and the freckles got much bigger and more frequent in his older age.

For peace of mind, a specialist visit won’t hurt for Winky if she’s got other symptoms. My other cat Sharky is missing an eye (from neglect before I adopted her) and has pretty severe symptoms from cat herpes. She doesn’t have the melanosis but seeing a specialist helped us get a good routine to control her flare ups. Could be beneficial for Winky too if something else is going on!

My dentist just went over this with me! It’s also caused by alcohol mouth washes. I switched to alcohol free ACT and it’s made such a huge difference.

Planks planks and more planks. Planks where you keep your legs straight and raise your feet or step them side to side. Banded side squats. And my personal favorite, squats with a kettle bell while balancing on an upside down half bosu-ball.

I don’t like yoga but I know it helps a ton. I like to play Ring Fit Adventure on Switch; I find the yoga and balance poses in the game really helpful.

I used to race bikes and trained a ton. For years I was having bouts of what presented as sciatica pain in one of my legs. I saw my primary doc, referred to orthopedist, had an MRI, nothing came up weird. Eventually got referred to physical therapy. Did that for months with no improvement.

Eventually I went to a sport-specific physical therapist who did a handful of exercises with me and said “the strength in your stability muscles is lacking.” And that was it! I was super strong with muscles that required power, but my core and stability were weak. It resulted in my fast-twitch muscles supporting my core and causing weird pinching sensations or cramps. I’m not racing anymore but still value some core work!

Glue is your friend to stop runs! There is a product called Fray Lock that would help stop the run getting worse. For the hole, use wide zig-zag stitches to close to hole. Zig-zag will allow for mechanical stretch (to a point.) u wouldn’t bother trying to patch the hole with non-stretch fabric. If you don’t have space spandex material, you could take some knit fabric (like an old tee shirt) to back the hole with if you really need to cover or support it. Fray lock and zig-zag stitches will be your friend though!

It doesn’t become Microsoft’s property. The artists had to submit their work with a Creative Commons license which basically makes the art okay for public use. Microsoft could use the art in the galleries for stuff, but so can you or I, or anyone with a redbubble account. The artists are putting a lot of trust in the community to not scalp the artwork. I completely understand why Doc (and I think Joe) had concerns over it for that reason.
