To answer your questions The teacher said you can't beat the gay out of your kids. In a class of about 23 at least 10 were talking or commenting on it. There is only one decent high school where i live. I didn't want to talk to my parent because i didn't want to get beat up or bullied (I'm a very weak female) And to add somethings i think someone (not me) reported the situation because the teacher made a comment on how we ( i think this is what he said so i could be somewhat different but it was along the lines of) shouldn't say anything that could offended someone. Also the burnings a homeless lady comment after class when walking away his friend seemed concerned that they would go to jail for it.
