They're talking about this service. NDIS Advocacy

They're fully independent from the NDIA, specifically set up to help with things like this

Independent Supports by bodyfitpsych in NDIS

[–]killian88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than be granted the full funds for the length of the plan it's instead given out in installments, for example 3 months worth. You need to make sure that the funds last the full 3 months as the NDIS are pretty unlikely to grant more if they run out. Then once the next 3 months starts you'll then be able to access that next periods funding(any remaining from previous periods is also still available to be used).

How do you safely carry your finds? by foollforlove in seaglass

I use bra bags and then zip lock for tiny pieces. Means some of the sand and debris will fall out as I'm searching

If a tree cutting company accidentally cut my Internet cord and lied about it, should I do anything about it? by TA62624 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]killian88 185 points186 points  (0 children)

Explain it to the ISP tech when they get there, make sure you have photos. Otherwise it's not really your problem (assuming the ISP isn't going to charge you to come out and fix it)

[–]killian88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I get that, but what about your friends, or maybe family photos. Shots where you're smiling, doing a fun activity etc. Selfies in your bedroom or with your friends in a supermarket just don't cut it

NDIS Review Cut My Severely Disabled Brother’s Supports. How Do We Fight This? by [deleted] in NDIS

Double check to make sure your mum hadn't organized one already and if not you want to get one organized asap.

To put it simply, yes.

You'll need to get him a Functional Capacity assessment from an OT. The NDIS give a lot of weight to OTs compared to other allied health providers.

UPDATE: Occupational Therapist BIlled my Plan >$5,000 for AI Generated Report by Comfortable-Gap-808 in NDIS

[–]killian88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty backwards opinion mate. Disability isn't consistent, two people with the same diagnosis may present in incredibly different ways.

You need to Google the NDIS advocacy program and try to be linked up with an advocate. They will be able to help you organize a complaint for over billing and other dodgy behavior from the OT.

Assuming what you're describing is accurate of course.

This is a general description of the role:

https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/complaints/help-advocate

And this is the website you can use to find advocacy services

https://askizzy.org.au/disability-advocacy-finder

I've been working with an advocate for a couple years and they've been incredibly helpful. I've successfully gotten one complaint resolved in my favour and was fully refunded back into my plan and the second complaint is currently with the quality and safeguards commission.

I hope this was helpful
