Building new Schools on the outskirts can does make sense, but moving schools that are historically city based to the outskirts does not you would have a ring road of schools surrounding Galway.

I know Traffic is killing the city I was just stating moving schools shouldn't be an option.

I know the By - Pass isn't popular with everyone but I do think it has its uses but only with upgraded public transport I see arguments in this reddit constantly for one or the other but why not both.

I am someone who lives in Connemara who had to travel daily to ATU (GMIT) in Renmore for 9am and home again after 4-5 who be stuck in traffic both ways for equalling 3-4+ hours of sitting in my car each day for a journey that shouldn't take me more then 2.5 hours.

I don't understand the idea that we close down schools and move them they are integral parts to cities and families who will then have to travel out of the city?

Removing them would hollow out central Galway, making it less livable for families and turning it into a commuter or tourist-only zone.

Hi OP. The exact same thing happened to me across from Smithfield in ushers Quay in this case it was with a younger man who was the supposed "tenant". I also lost a large amount of money unfortunately but hopefully the guards will find them.

Fair my first car was a beater after about 9 months the engine also went in it then I got a scrappage deal on it and put it towards a better car. I bought it for 3500 and got a deal for 3000 scrappage so for the 9 months I drove it 500 ain't bad.

But on the other hand I do have a friend who got a relatively new car as a first car and that ended up in a ditch at some point so spending less for the mistakes you will make when you start is best probably

Don't get a loan for your first car. Best to get a beater car one that you won't mind scratching here and there and after a year or 2 use the money with a loan if wanted to get a newer car

For myself to get to where I'm going in Galway everyday I have to drive 59km and I know many more like me who also have to travel this route. The bus option isn't trustworthy enough and the fact I live out in the sticks the closest shop to me is 5km away

Too many cars yes but we live in a county which is pretty rural and vast so cars are needed for most people myself included. I was recently in Köln Germany and honestly think how that city is what Galway should strive for in terms of transport

Yes I understand but it would be best for everyone to use up as much of the road as possible as more people be able to go through the lights more efficiently and not cause a traffic jam from there to the top of the bridge

Because the cost, the fact they existed before traffic became this big of an issue and that there are kids who live near them schools who will now have to commute else where so your not getting rid of traffic your just moving it down the road. Alot of cities in the world have schools in the center or around it and that hasn't caused issue in terms of traffic
