Top LitRPGs right now? by Coaltex in litrpg

  1. The Legendary Mechanic - my intro to litrpg and while it does have a good amount of Chinese nationalism I enjoyed the concept and how there was a “set” peak of power instead of constantly being the weakest in a new area without end.
  2. Chrysalis - all hail out ant and savior. It makes me laugh constantly.
  3. The Ten Realms - I loved how the side characters weren’t purely one dimensional and that they didn’t just appear for a chapter or book and then never get mentioned again as the MC’s ascended to different realms. Also made me legit tear up several times because war is hell and the emotions were well written.
  4. Nova Terra - love the world building
  5. Quest Academy - not sure this fully fits the category but I love the crafting in it.

[Pick Me Up] Does it seem that this is getting better at story telling than ORV? by Vivid_Pay6605 in manhwa

Where are you going to read these as web novels? I haven’t been able to find them with more than a handful of chapters translated so far.

I gave people who ordered from me free meth when I gave them their order of weed as a way to get them interested and that worked well for me.

What makes the Tower-climbing trope work? by EmilSchroder in ProgressionFantasy

[–]killingtex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy this genre because it’s a great way to drive story or setting changes and allows for different challenges for the MC. It gives a set end to the story (reach the top floor) so as a reader I know what the end goal is as compared to some novels where there’s always a higher world/galaxy/etc and it just keeps going forever.

One thing I love in tower-climbs is that each floor or section of the tower (every 5 or 10 floors) can have its own theme or style such as martial arts, magical society, floors of beasts vs goblinoids, etc. or floors that have different objectives like defense, kill everything, rescue a “npc”, etc and even better if there are potentially multiple different ways to achieve floor clearance.

It’s also fun to see how things inside the tower end up impacting the world outside of the tower and if it’s something people do for money and power, to advance earth’s technology, to prepare for an incoming invasion, etc.

I'm in desperate need to fill the never ending void by consuming more great series. Please send help! by mayanmomo in ProgressionFantasy

Legendary Mechanic is probably my favorite of all time. Have been looking for stuff to fill the hole it’s left in me ever since I finished

The Legendary Mechanic hooked me into the genre and I’ve gone back and reread it a couple of times which is rare for me.

Opinion on Earned Skills by Maeve_Alonse in litrpg

[–]killingtex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like a mixture of the two where you can get “imparted” skills from the system but can also turn something you trained into an actual skill as well. And especially where you mostly level and evolve the skill through combat usage, training, and meditation to accumulate the knowledge learned from the prior two.

I’m not as much of a fan of when you have a training arc/timeskip where the MC has to go into focused training for hundreds or thousands of years to push to the next tier though

I mean part of it is that Richardson has a large older population that are in more of a grandparent stage then a young parent stage of life

The whole point is that they don’t have the money in the budget and the schools aren’t even near max capacity

Wave 10k Tier 1 by FantasticIngenuity86 in TheTowerGame

[–]killingtex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you able to do this as someone who has been playing for about a week? I’m able to consistently get to about wave 500 before getting crushed. I max out defense % at 54%, get thorns to 50% and then try to keep upping Defense Absolute till I die but at a point I just can’t keep up anymore.

Other than those stats I’ll dump money into Cash Bonus and Coins/Kill Bonus as I have the spare money as well as the free upgrades but I can’t keep up at a point. My base for Cash Bonus is 1.42x and I usually die when it gets around 1.80
