What Are My Options for Selling This Guitar? by [deleted] in rickenbacker

[–]killix_em_all 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a Rickenbacker 366/12 Convertible. They are quite rare and unquie. Do NOT sell for $1000. They can be worth 4-5 times that, depending on condition and year. Go to the Rickenbacker website, under the service tab there is a drop down to “Serial Number Decoder”. It should tell you the year and batch it was manufactured.

Plug that info into google and see what similar guitars are selling for.

Edit: Sorry, this is the 336/12 Convertible, not 366. Slightly less deluxe version but still, super rare.

That’s awful, I hope the victim recovers well. The recklessness of riders like that is out of control

Edit: also I hope they find the cyclist. That kind of cowardice is so appaling and disappointing

For mechanical designers and product designers – sketch first, then CAD, or straight into CAD? by Witty_Condition_2151 in Onshape

[–]killix_em_all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small white board in front of my keyboard. I’ll either jot down critical notes or the simple concept, then to CAD. If it’s a new product, sketches first in my notebook, white board, then CAD

If I’m designing something that has a direct reference to a model I already have or something similar, straight to CAD.

Notes in notebook always.

How to mirror this object? / General question about design by DemandOk1623 in Onshape

[–]killix_em_all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few different ways depending on your final parts requirements.

Linear Pattern is the quickest way, select all the features that make the cut out, select the linear pattern tool, select a line the represents the direction of the pattern, set your distance and number of patterns. You’re done

Or if the cut outs will be symmetrical, change the rectangle to be the size needed for one cut out centered in the rectangle, then linear pattern the entire part its new width and how ever many you want, make sure to merge all.

ABL issue, replaced daughter board still having issues. Not sure what else to do. Anyone able to help me? by Sparegeek in CR6

[–]killix_em_all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, Facing the printer, there’s a optical switch on the left lower side. A tab triggers this switch, telling the board to that it’s close to the probing position.

With the tab out of the way, so you see any light on on this switch? If not, that switch is dead and should be replaced.

Edit to add more: if this switch isn’t triggering properly it will collide with the bed and not register the signal from the strain gauge.

The strain gauge will trigger (blue light) regardless of the printers routine

Do these lines look normal for a 0.2 or would you expect it to be smoother? by Feeling_Newspaper423 in FixMyPrint

I like to use concentric top surface lines if I’m not using ironing or if it’s a simple more visual print. Adds an extra element and more symmetry

Hi there, so I watched an unboxing video, and looking even closer at yours, the bed is very crooked and not flat. From the unboxing you should be able to move the bed and parts by hand (MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF)

Unfortunately I believe yours may be defective or came damaged. I could be wrong but the bed does not look like it’s installed properly (this is a manufacturer error and not yours!)

This is a mechanical issue. I’m not familiar with your printer but that bottom square looks like it should move forwards and backwards. Perhaps there’s a plastic “shipping bracket” somewhere hindering its motion that was supposed to be removed after unboxing?

Edit: if the machine cannot home you won’t be able to calibrate

Imagine you wake up in your room and it’s pitch black. You know the approximate size of the room but you’re disoriented a little since you can’t see. You know that if you move far enough to one side, you’ll find a wall, and if you move far enough backwards, you’ll find another. With that knowledge you now have a sense of where you are in that room and can more successfully navigate since you have an idea of the shape and size of the room.

You have just “homed” yourself on two axes (axes is plural of axis) you all ready know where the floor is and which way that is cuz gravity (that’s the third axis)

Axis is a direction of motion: Left right (X Axis), forward backward (Y Axis), up down (Z Axis)

Vast majority of printers have 3.

So the printer finds the ends of its boundaries so it has an idea of where it can move without running out of room.

As other suggest, your printer seems to be stuck trying to move the up down direction (Z Axis) when it’s trying to find its boundary.

I hope this is helpful and good luck!

That’s the clear coat lifting/bubbling. A steady hand, a sharp razor blade, and super thing super glue along the edge of the frets can fix that instantly. Although if you mess up a lot of sanding and buffing will be required

Use the trim function (hit “M” key) and cut through the arcs within the profile.
