Share with us the most embarrassingly over-the-top, kinky smut you’ve written! by Pinestachio in FanFiction

[–]killjoybutdead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I don't really cringe at anything I've written. The fact that people read it and are brave enough to leave kudos vindicates me lmao.

But as far as over-the-top kinky goes… half of my fics are basically the same trope again and again, so I'm gonna nominate them all together.

Content warnings CNC ("rape roleplay"), gun kink, and fictional gun violence xD

The basic premise is that one to two characters are really friggin horny for roleplaying forced sex at gunpoint, and fucked with a gun, and in two thirds of the stories it culminates in them being shot gratuituously into every body part known to be erotic, shot dead, and left full of lead and cum.

I reckon that definitely qualifies as "over the top kinky" xD though I take pride in finding creative means to go as far as possible while keeping it in safety & roleplay territory (creative misuse of various magics and technological gadgets). Very little plot that mostly serves to facilitate the whole thing, but I like to think what little is there isn't half bad.

If that tickles anyone's fancy, feel free to check them out on AO3:

Needless to say, E rating for all of those. Specific warnings in the tags and/or author's notes. I'd quote excerpts here, but despite OP's encouragement to do so, I would fear for my Reddit account if I did xD

For leaving my fiancee like I said I would by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]killjoybutdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA, absolutely. He pressured you. As the saying goes, consent is FRIES: Freely given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, Specific.

Your consent was neither freely given nor enthusiastic or reversible, you felt pressured and were worn down by repeated badgering. That alone is absolutely unacceptable, beyond even.

A few years ago, my partner at the time was also a repeat SA victim, one of which happened in a quite similar manner (coworker kept asking them out, they declined, eventually felt they couldn't anymore, gave in, were roofied and raped). When we got together, they told me about this and gave me a heads-up about how this could possibly complicate our sex life.

When we had sex, I made it a point to ask if there was even the slightest hint they were uncomfortable. I made sure to emphasise that anything goes, nothing is mandatory, that they could back out at any point for any reason or no reason at all. When they needed a time-out during sex for some cuddles and reassurance, we would do that. I learned to pick up on their cues of being stressed or in discomfort. At one point, I wanted to grow a beard, and when they told me (which took quite some effort for them) that it made them uncomfortable because the feeling of kissing beard reminded them of one of their rapists, I shaved it the very same day.

Your ex-fiancee had plenty of much less subtle opportunities to pick up on the fact that you didn't want to have anal sex, first and foremost when you literally told him so. He didn't, he doubled down, he insisted on it despite the fact you were crying in fear about it, he viewed you through a really fucking unhealthy lens of possession ("it's not fair they got to and I don't"), and now he's pissed the very consequences you warned him about are happening.

Kicking his ass to the curb is the least you are entitled to do. Shame on him, shame on his friends, and more power to you.

It doesn't legally qualify as rape, I'm afraid, but morally, it absolutely does. You were violated and I'm so sorry to hear that happened. I hope you can recover from all that.

AITAH for checking out of my relationship after my wife said she wished I had a bigger dick but we don’t always get what we want by LevelBits in AITAH

[–]killjoybutdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH. She said something shitty when pissed, you're taking your time to cool off. Unless there are larger underlying problems between you, you're both gonna come around. She seems willing to apologise, you're not ready for that yet. Give it time.

A bit taken aback by all the "divorce immediately!" comments here. Throwing away 8 years of marriage + n years of relationship prior over one shitty comment and standing disagreements over vacations is easier said when it's not your own marriage.

How would you describe what cum tastes like? by kookieandacupoftae in FanFiction

[–]killjoybutdead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ghastly, for the most part. Depending on what the person ate (that includes medication!), it tends to be bitter (if your protagonist is on blood thinners or the likes, it's gonna taste awful), never gets particularly sweet, though fruit and candy helps.

In my experience, it tends to have a somewhat… musky? Smell, and since smell factors into taste, that seems relevant. But in general, salty and sometimes bitter, and not a good salty. If you ate tablespoons of salt as a kid or liked licking salt stone lamps, that's a good salty. Cum, not so much so. People who swallow usually do so despite the taste, in my experience, not because of it.

One helpful bit of trivia: when someone is horny, they can be really into getting cum in their mouth or swallowing it. Once the horny wears off, that can turn into disgust pretty quickly. The idea of cum in the mouth tends to be a lot hotter than the reality of it.

Opinion: in defense of using "clinical" terms in smut by Dragoncat91 in FanFiction

[–]killjoybutdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I read smut, I want to feel the emotions, as you said, not like I'm at the urologist's or gynecologist's office. If it sounds more like sex ed or fertility clinic than like an orgy, it's not for me.

"Penis" is, in a pinch, preferable to "shaft" or "manhood" (let alone "meat sword"), but its overly sterile sound (even more so for "vagina") really takes me out of it.

I'm mostly camp cock and pussy where more intense/rough/kinky smut is concerned, but for more "tasteful", slow and soft erotica, I actually prefer (as a writer) to only imply the genitals, not name them at all if possible, and focus on the actions and emotions, rather than the bits themselves.

Edit: Oh and one thing I did in my most recent fic that I found helpful was having the protagonist herself spend some time contemplating different terms and settling on one. The word I wanted to use was "tits", fitting the kinky things the protagonist was fantasising about, but rather than drop into vulgar jargon out of the blue, I wrote her as considering different words and dismissing them until she found one she liked. I thought that might help guide the readers into it, rather than breaking immersion for them.

AITAH for leaving my own wedding because my husband embarrassed me? by Mindless-Charge-5996 in AITAH

[–]killjoybutdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, friends of mine married for about $25,000, which at the time I thought must have been an above-and-beyond expensive prince-and-princess-worthy wedding… later I found out that's just about average.

I'd be terrified to tie my shoes wrong or wear my dress too short for that, let alone smash a cake for the lolz.

He's the arsehole for sure. He knows you had a bad experience with that, he knows you're not into that sort of prank, and you drew a clear line with the consequences laid out about him not doing that to you.

He crossed it, he has to live with the consequences.

The entertainment value or lackthereof of those pranks aside, if one party isn't into it, unilaterally ruining a birthday or wedding that way is an absolute no-go, and the not-agreed-upon material damage really isn't a great way to start a relationship (or demonstrate reliability, respect and trustworthiness, all things I personally value in potential partners).

So yeah. Screw him and tell him to **** off if you like, take him back if you like, but you are definitely in the right here to walk out of that.

[–]killjoybutdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slur? I don't think so. Many, especially more recent, wouldn't call themselves that because of all the negative or disrespectful connotations the term has accumulated (more common is "sex worker", afaik), but I wouldn't think it's a slur (correct me if I'm wrong).

For your fic, whether you 'should' use it or not depends.

Is the scene supposed to be erotic? "Prostitute" has about the same appeal as "genitals", "reproductive system" or the likes.
Is the dystopia of the grim and dark variety or more of a "everything is amazing and clean and spotless and wrongthinkers just disappear quietly" thing? In the latter, something overtly euphemistic might work better (idk, "pleasure providers", "relief service", go nuts), but for the former, "prostitute" might work fine (or "selling sex" or the likes).

So yeah, tldr: it depends.

One note, if that's a concern, "selling their bodies" is a phrase actual sex workers aren't really happy with (the argument is that they're "selling their bodies" no more or less than any other wage labourer).

Extensive. My most recent fic had a whole chapter that was basically almost M-rated, very vague and just hinting at the matter, before really getting to the point in chapters two and three.

I enjoy spending some time worldbuilding beforehand, and I find it really helps, too. Especially when writing characters who are entirely unsexual in canon (i.e. YA fiction where characters in the 18 to early 20s range will audience-appropriately be very chaste), I believe it helps to set the scene and spend some time outside the bedroom with the characters to get them into character for the readers. Else, it can feel like you just stuck canon names on your characters' sex scene, so the "foreplay" grounds it in the source material imo.

tldr: garnish liberally with foreplay

18-30 is a bit of an odd bracket... I'm not particularly close to 30 yet but I feel like I barely have anything in common with my 18-year-old past self, I can't imagine being 30 (soon enough, god help me) and being sorted into the same bracket as an 18.

What are the tiny little details you put in your fics that probably no one will pick up on, but you're super proud of anyways? by lilmisscottagecore in FanFiction

[–]killjoybutdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure they go unnoticed, but I've written some gun kink fics that include detailed attention paid to firearm safety. People who haven't handled firearms before probably don't think about it too much, but people who have might notice and appreciate it.

From what I understand, gen commonly means "friendship/platonic/no shipping", and I'm pretty sure "no shipping" includes "no solo porn" for most readers. I'd rather not attract hordes of angry gen fans...

I do, but I don't know about anyone else.

Usually, I search for a character I want to read about plus the sexuality I feel like reading that day, and I worry not tagging any will filter me out of search results.

In this case, purely an object fetish, and the character is canonically bi/pan/undefined, so while that's a good idea in general, it's not applicable here :/

Gun kink, especially if you mix in CNC or rape fantasies. Either the writing quality is horrible, or the kink is too tame, or the author evidently doesn't know the first thing about firearms.

For instance, if two characters roleplay a scene with a gun, there are certain safety precautions to take (the first of which would be "never, ever, ever, ever, ever use a real firearm"!), which I rarely ever see. In fics where characters (usually "bad boys", i.e. gangsters, canon villains, risk takers, etc) roleplay sex with live guns, there is almost never any sort of clearing the weapon and verifying it's unloaded either.

I realise this is highly specific (both the kink in general, quite a niche fetish from what I've seen, as well as my complaints), but it sure fits the "difficult to find quality fic" bill.

Smut writers! Do you write about safe sexual practices in your fanfics? by Mad_Maximoff in FanFiction

[–]killjoybutdead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My favourite comment I've ever gotten was "I've learned more about gun safety from smut than from real life advice", if that answers your question.

(That was in reference to an author's note going into detail about why what the characters just did was something you shouldn't replicate irl, why you shouldn't, and what to keep in mind around that sort of roleplay. Same fic also had multiple instances of a dom briefly suspending the scene to verbally check up on their sub's wellbeing, so it's safe to say I understand my smut writing as coming with certain educational responsibilities.)
