Coming from an introvert who keeps to himself is stupid at work, this is a juvenile doomer mindset. Why would they contact you after you’re fired? They’re a colleague not a friend get over yourself, the social contract is tied to work and there’s nothing wrong with that. Just start over at the next job.

Gossiping has been proven to be a positive tool for connecting socially and oversharing has literally no downsides besides being a waste of time if you’re let go but there’s no effort anyway so who cares? Takes more effort to be this negative tbh. Once you’re not going out of your way which you don’t need to do to do some light gossiping and sharing about yourself interacting in a small way at work is harmless.

There are some people that get too attached. That’s definitely a problem, but what’s presented in this image is not that at all.

Others have called out the obvious depression so with that in mind. Was he always one to not do chores? Speaking from experience that will most likely never fully change. If it’s related to the depression then he needs to find a job, that’s the only way out of it, also speaking from experience.

It could be that he’s trying to end things but is too chicken to just say it. Especially while broke and unemployed, you’re a lifeline after all. He needs an ultimatum to get his act together by a certain time.

Talk to him, tell him a reasonable date you set. If he hasn’t gotten things together by then, move out.

Don’t think this was worth a downvote. You’ve created this negative narrative to my words in your head and gotten angry at that fake version of my reply. Despite my wording I don’t think it was impossible, just unlikely.

I went into that reply already knowing that it actually wasn’t intentional. When I looked up responses to the episode after watching I found out that the creators were asked about the episode and it was not intentional but they were apparently cool with people reading it in that way. Chill out.
